Doc Rivers would love Spencer Dinwiddie in that Lou Williams role off the bench.

The #GoldenStateWarriors are looking to land #BenSimmons in a deal including #AlHorford, #AndrewWiggins and their 2nd overall draft pick, per #NBCsports' Tom Haberstroh.

What the hell is this?

Every team is looking to land Ben Simmons for essentially nothing.

Cool, Simmons as our SG. To be honest, in that team, his shooting isn't that far off from the others

Oh sorry.

Ben can be PG then have Rose as more of a combo guard SG.

Ben can also start at PG with Milton as SG.

Then we can have Rose as back-up PG.

Yeah ok, but if shooting is already our biggest issue at this moment, that team would be a disaster in that regard

Horford is still decent btw, Griffin is completely washed up

Creating off the dribble and guarding ball handlers are far bigger weaknesses of ours than shooting.

its pretty hard to create when defenses can just cheat off everyone tho.

shot creation is great and definitely needed but having dudes defenses won't just leave open is also needed. One being more important than the other does not mean you ignore the other IMO.
Of course in a ideal world we'd have a bunch of Durants and run the world...but guys who can create their own shot is already tough to get especially as over the cap team, getting multiple and ones who are also gravity shooters and solid defenders is just not happening.

I'd rather cut Detroit out and try to focus solely on Chicago. Porter and Young would be fantastic defensive Fs to get. Porter even provides the spacing element for those who care about shooting.

How in the hell does GSW plan on matching salary is what I want to know. Draymond? That's a total non starter

Also this is what happens when every other team thinks they found the fish at the table. Fortunately Morey is here to rescue Elton. The rumors of teams trying to swipe stars from here will end quickly.

Horford, Richardson, 34, and 36 to CLE for Exum, Osman, Nance, and some minimum dude named Dean Wade.

Liking the idea behind the trade - question is, who would cover for SG besides Shake (who isn't a good defender)? Thybulle? Korkmaz? That's not enough ballhanding or shooting capabilities between the 2.

That's an interesting deal if you take away the picks

National guys keep saying it's going to cost two 1sts to dump Horford. Cavs aren't paying to dump any of their guys, count them as neutral salary filler. So if Richardson equals a 1st, 34 and 36 roughly equal another. But maybe since CLE wants to "hit the gas", they do it for only one of the 2nds?

Only possible is if Rox decides to rebuild and we can go something like..

Warriors:
Ben

Rox:
Wiggins
2nd overall

Sixers:
Harden

But then.. i’d rather have Ben that whoever that 2nd overall pick or wiggins is so there’s an angle Rox could just straight up do a Harden for Ben deal.

The more i look at avdija the more he reminds me of Dario Saric

The Iggy TPE is somewhere between 17 and 18M. Not nearly big enough for Al or Ben. So the only way it could work would be GSW adding in Thompson or Draymond (Curry is never leaving). But after reading it, it seems to just be idle speculation on the part of Haberstroh. My favorite part is the writer on the aggregator site doesn’t seem to know how TPE’s work nor the salaries of the players involved

Reading the comments in the post, it sounds like the money would come from making the selection, signing the guy, then make the trade, a la Wiggins-Love deal.

They would have options to fill those minutes. I would hope some combo of Milton, Thybulle, and Korkmaz would step up. They might be able to grab someone at 21 that steps in. They also could elect to use the TMLE to add another player to the mix. Or Morey might just make another trade.
