Markkanen should rank really highly up on that list. Elite floor spacer and doesn't need a lot of touches to impact the game. He'd be our Klay/MPJ archetype. Compliments both Embiid and Maxey on the offensive end.

He's not a true secondary rim protector, but he's 7'0 and can move his feet in space and uses his length really well. He's also one of the premier rebounders in the association and would give Embiid much needed relief on both glass'.

Markkanen was 2nd in the NBA in second chance points in 22-23 and was hovering around the top 10 this year as well. He's tough, a presence on and off of the ball and far too potent for teams to not gameplan for. And the best part is that he's still only 26.

I can't think of many attainable players with our draft capital that would be a more worthwhile investment.

Although Ainge would give him to Boston for scraps before he helped us out.

I think Ainge is going to sell him this summer, but your last statement says it all. I’ll keep my hopes up a bit, especially if no other suitor steps up to the plate.

1) Trade four 1sts ('24 PHI, '26 OKC, '28 LAC, '29 PHI) + Reed (after July 9th) for Markkanen
2) Use remaining cap space (~$57 mil) to sign Oubre, Batum, Melton, Kyle Anderson, and Bruce Brown (team option)
3) Sign Lowry and Drummond to vet mins

Maxey/Lowry
Brown/Melton
Oubre/Batum
Lauri/Anderson
Embiid/Drummond

Markanen is the best fit we can get I feel. Strong guy, very good rebounder (also offensive decent), great shooter from the 4, decent defender, ...

It will cost us a lot though.

He's perfect, but I shudder at the mere idea of dealing with that little weasel Ainge.

You can't get a better fit. Give him Buddy, 5 picks, and Reed and call it a day. If we need I'd throw in Melton as well. Ainge has to know that Maxey is far better at this piont, and no way we even talk.

I highly doubt that we'll be the only suitor, and if OKC wants him, they're going to get him unless Ainge decides he doesn't want to trade him in the conference.

Jimmy Butler is so worth that max.

Oubre is number one priority signing after Maxey extension. Oubre is a fearless , lengthy, above average skilled wing with a actual offense bag. He gotta be signed before we even think about gambling on a big fish.

George is nice but he don't fix out interior defense, rebounding ,size or slashing deficiencies. We need Siakam or Gamble on Simmons on a smaller role.

Is he a FA this summer? Miami can't afford to let Butler walk if they expect to contend next year, and if the thought is replacing Butler with George, good luck with that. I might entertain a Jimmy for two years deal. Fill the roster out with role players and take a couple of shots.

I looked it up. Looks like he has two years remaining with the second being a player option. Guess he's trying to squeeze the Pat Riley to get hist last big money deal before it's too late.

Daryl Morey, you’re now on the clock. No more excuses from previous front office ineptitude.

This summer needs to be a damn home run.

Yeah Daryl,
You need to swing a good trade WITHOUT giving up our draft pick,

You need to bring back the necessary players without overpaying them,

You need a viable backup center for Embiid,

You need to sign Derrick Jones Jr and Bol Bol

You need to bring back Oubre, Melton, and Buddy Hield.

I said it in the game 6 thread but I would go after Lebron or Durant.

Embiid doesn't have much time left at this level, accelerated by injuries. Either one would ideally be able to get to the playoffs relatively fresh, carried by Maxey and embiid in the regular season.

Durant yes, but I highly doubt LeBron comes here. Durant has more to offer imo. His length, scoring, he's the Tobias upgrade that we need. He'll cost a leg though.

I don’t think all of this is possible

But, I agree Morey is on the clock starting now and he has no more excuses. He has to get the job done and build the team to beat Boston and win the East.

Yeah Tobias has to go. 40 million a year to put up a donut in a must win playoff game is inexcusable.
