That’s weird because I remember thinking he looked considerably bigger.

Yeah I thought McCain looked bigger, even though they say Max has gotten bigger than last year.

I dont think Maxey and McCain are similar sized. Maxey’s size is better suited for a combo guard, I believe he has the same size with D’Fox.

McCain is quite short. But seems like he has the physique to bulk it up so he wont be pushed around by wings similar to guys like FVV or Lowry.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Mccain is slightly taller and much wider than Maxey even as a rookie. Maxey is slightly taller than TJ McConnell.

IMO, one of the main concerns with an undersized SG is your team rebounding would suffer.

This is where McCain quells alot of those concerns. Dude is a munchkin, but he battles on the defensive boards and is actually an asset on the glass.

I don't hate the Maxey/McCain backcourt TBH.

They are about the same height, McCain just has a broader build. Maxey is much more athletic with longer wingspan.

Seems like he can get to Lowry levels and play bigger. But we'll see

As long as you have a 7 footer anchoring the defense and two athletic Fs, you can get by defensively with a small backcourt. We have all those things.

Lowry was always a stellar pest, toughness, strength, and quickness was his thing as a prospect. I’m not low on McCain at all but don’t think that’s a useful comparison.

You've been able to compare two players on bref for years without paying.

There will NEVER be a starting Maxey/McCain backcourt as long as they are still contending for the playoffs now. Maybe after Embiid and PG are retired and they are rebuilding cause you always NEED a non short backcourt guy to compliment a short guy to balance the law of averages when it comes to winning in this day and age. Knecht would have been ideal whom I also bet on winning ROY right after the draft. Dlo/AR backcourt is a failure that can be exploited easily and neither shoot the 3 as good as the rook. JJ will replace either Dlo or AR with him before this season ends and improve their lineup immediately on both ends of the court. It's only a matter of time.

Morey missed a golden opportunity on a steal of the draft and he knows it.

Knecht turning 24 in 5 months is a tough pill to swallow. He should really win ROY if he plans on being the "real deal".

No different for you stating the same thing as a tough pill to swallow if Cooper Flagg was turning 24 too as a rookie. Knecht story is similar to Flagg other than age, which seems to be an issue with many but he was by far the best player in this draft class.

I don't know what you mean. Cooper Flagg won't be in college at 23 years old because he'll have proven he's better than having to stick around in college for 3-4 years.

I was talking the other day with someone and saying that McCain has a weird instinct for getting shots off. Windows people wouldn't think there's a shot in, angles that don't seem like you can get something up without it being blocked, etc.

Maxey has a version of that and it's one of the reasons why he's so good, but McCain's seems more about a mindset and attitude that's always at play. Every time he touches the ball he's seeing potential shots that other people don't. I don't think I totally trust it yet (what happens when defenders are looking out for that?) but it's interesting and has served him well at every level so far. I remember doubting Maxey some too his rook year because his game relied so much on hard shots, saw how well that turned out.
