Salvistine24 wrote:i like iggy but there like almost any player are two very different views on him...
one side sees him as underrated by most accounts, a guy who does it all, fills the stat sheet and is a solid part of the future going forward
others see a guy who is about to get paid who has yet to avg more than 20 ppg but will get paid like a guy who is supposed too with little regard to the other things he does
both sides have characteristics about iggy which are true and prevalent and combined tell the whole story
imo, iggy is what a 9th overall pick should be...a solid nba starter who can look real good at times but for the most part is consistant and solid...he is where his developement should...now i think in our rebuilding effort, we as fans want something to grasp and hold onto to say the future is bright...and since we really didnt get it in the iverson trade, we lean on iggy which isnt fair...hes a nice player but he isnt a franchise guy...he isnt even a pippen..hes a good basketball player and thats it...we need to accept that he is above average but our hopes and feelings shouldnt be too tied into him bc we havent rebuilt quite right yet...at some point soon, we will have that young franchise guy and then we can get behind him, whether its in this draft, through rfa, or via a guy already on roster (thad maybe?)...
until then lets accept iggy for what he is and not have these unreal expectations and feelings...he can be traded but he is our best trade chip right now...no reason to just get rid of him for the sake of doing it...
I agree wholeheartedly with what you posted. You touched on all of the points. That post was the voice of reason and wasn't pro Iggy or anti Iggy it seemed to be Pro SIXER/realist. No need to trade Iggy just to do so, but once he signs that contract he will become untradable who would want him for $10 mil+ unless they were trading us complete overpaid garbage in return like a Jamal Crawford type player.

Whose fault is it that your reading comprehension is so low? People on this forum value there time entirely too much to make sure that you understand everything. That's what your teachers and parents should have done.

If you can get quality back for him, you make a trade, but the suggestion that Bruce Bowen or Raja Bell are of equal value for a rebuilding team is just silly. Both are nice players when surrounded by stars...Iguodala has shown more than either player, and still has room to grow. You could sell me on trading Iguodala if you can bring back a young big and another young talent.

The fact that you made a BS comparison isn't my fault...this is a Ricky defense. Say something completely ludicrous, then attack when someone calls you on it. Your time isn't that valuable nor important...don't flatter yourself.

I know that I do that and have known that for quite some time. Do I care? NOPE! You will not catch me BLATANTLY misunderstanding points like yourself, that's just a lack of intellect which can NEVER be repaired by any English tutor or spell check.

Just answer me this....why do you hate Him so much? Huh?
You say you don't want us to overpay him when in reality we're not going to he's going to get 10 mil a year which is just around what guys who are Andre's age usually get. so I can't be that.
You say it's because he's not a leader.. I can understand that but it's been said before that this is his first time in this role ever....the guy has to learn how to be a leader. so that's no good.
you it's because he's replacable. Yeah but not really, you stated in a nother topic that if you place career backups like Anthony Parker and Carlos Delfino could do what Iggy is doing...........just let that set in a bit. Parker was a bust who has found a system that he can strive in. and Delfino was cotemplating quiting basketball before this year. They cannot replace Dala, sorry. He is replacable but you often have to give up a lot to get that guy.
so what did he do to make you hate him so much.
I just want an answer........

Then I will point back to this thread with the Shawn Bradley comparison, a known notoriously "great" late season 76er performer on BAD teams when many other teams are tanking and mentally already on summer vacation.

Just let me say that I'm not trying to be rude, but if you thought Bradley was ever showing true potential during his 2+ seasons here, then...well, then I guess that would be consistent with most of your other posts. Sorry you're beating your head against the wall, but I just don't get this one. It's not like Iguodala played well last year for only the last 1/4 of the season...are you anticipating that this season?
He's not untouchable...send him to GS, get back Wright, Bellinelli and maybe an expiring deal, and I'd be able to sleep at night. The rebuild just extended another season or two, but at least you have the big man prospect who may be a star down the road and a young SG.

I deleted it because I thought better of it. Maybe you should do the same, as your one more condescending remark from getting a suspension.
People are on your case because of your condescending attitude, not your opinions. Lose the attitude.
As I've always said, if you're here to discuss basketball, great. We welcome anyone who is. If you're here to try to put down people and who off superiority, leave now rather than wasting each others time.

Oh yeah I just remembered you were giving me moderator "warnings" when I first got here, THEN you make that sarcastic remark about my misspelling of the word "there"? Now you are THREATENING to suspend me? You hardly seem fit to be in a position to do that. You clearly have a problem with ME, an ax to grind. It's only font dbodner, its only font...
