No...isn't 17 a swap? Why would philly give up both for merely a swap. I'd take Smart (not a huge fan) but would much rather Brown from Boston.

If and when Butler is traded to either the Celtics or the Nuggets, Okafor to the Bulls will be included in that deal. Mudiay if its Denver. Not sure what if its Boston. Obviously something around either Bradley, Smart or Rozier.

BKN pick, Johnson, and Okafor to CHI
Butler to BOS
Smart to PHI

Anybody think this has legs?

BKN17 to Philadelphia
Nerlens Noel and Jimmy Butler to Boston
Jahlil Okafor, BKN18 and Jae Crowder to Chicago

No. No way Chicago trades Butler and waits a year to get the Brooklyn pick. If they trade Butler they will demand they they Brooklyn's pick this year. No GM would be that dumb. Next year is a weaker draft and you don't know how bad Brooklyn will be.

Wojnarowski says the trade would involve one of the Nets’ first-rounders — but probably not both — that Boston owns in the next two drafts.

The swap would be tied to Boston's pick not the Sixers. Boston would be trading the better of theirs and the Nets pick.

Prediction:

We trade Okafor for Brandon Knight.

No insider info, just a gut feeling.

I don't think he's getting traded at this point. Bryan will hold onto him until his value disintegrates into nothing while he sits on the bench.

I don't know, I could see Colangelo doing that trade and saying: "See?! I got a young PG that fits well with Simmons!" Even though it would be a pretty hollow trade. If Knight didn't cost so much for so long, I'd love to take a shot on that. But his contract is problematic.

Ok. And no way Chicago trades Butler and doesn't get back the 17 Brooklyn pick. I have no idea why anyone would think they would only settle for the 18 pick in a weaker draft and Brooklyn may not even have the best odds of getting the top pick. No GM is going to wait a year in getting back great value after trading a top 10 player. The best value is that 17 Brooklyn pick. At a minimum the deal must include 17 Brooklyn pick and Crowder and either 18 Brooklyn pick or one of Smart or Bradley.

Although I agree the more likely scenario is:

Boston: Jimmy Butler
Chicago: Jahlil Okafor, Jaylen Brown, BKN17 (salary filler)
Sixers: Marcus Smart

While you might be right, as Wojnarowski states, there is "a way". ;-)

Okafor for Smart, essentially? Something tells me someone here says no.

There is no way we can get Smart just for trading Okafor. If Colangelo can pull that off he should be executor of the century and the award should be renamed after him.

I'm sure a lot of people will say no. Some will say yes. I, for one, would do it.

The 76ers would get cut out of that deal. Smart is a better asset/player than Okafor, so Chicago would just take him.

Yea, the some that say "yes" will be Sixers fans.

Would be an atrociously awful trade. Suns should need to give a protected 1st to dump Knight to someone.
jonjames is a signature bet welcher.

I would too. Boston won't. Trades need to be a two way street. Both parties have to agree. I would trade Okafor for LeBron too while we're at it.

It would be a way for both franchises to save face (My impression is that most Suns fans consider Knight to be negative value at this point). I've gotten an indication that Colangelo at least has some sort of plan with the cap space though (otherwise why made such a concerted effort to bring in short term guys last summer?). But who knows.

I still think the top "face saving" trade would be Okafor for Hezonja.

Boston will have some key decisions to made coming up...do they spend some assets this year to truly compete, or hold all assets and hope for some luck in the lottery/draft? They probably can do both, but can't over value every asset. Bradley has to return healthy as well.

I agree with a lot but Boston has good players but no superstars now( It -doesnt impact his team as say embiid) and that is their issue now, adding aroyo and ball if they are what is said about them- it would lift them to our level talentwise+ BC<ainge( specialy at trades) might be tough for us to compete

sixers, it was always sixers

Who is Aroyo?

Aroyo in Boston
