I disagree on Tatum. Ainge wouldn't even give up Brown + BKN pick for Kyrie, so I can't imagine he'd trade Tatum + 3 1sts + more for AD.

As for Horford, he can opt out and become a UFA next summer. If he re-signs in Boston, then he can't be traded for 6 months.

Fultz , saric and Chandler for JIMMY Butler.

1. He plays def, playmakes and gets buckets.
2. Clutch , vet and star.
3. Instead of 80 for Saric and 100 for Fultz. Max Jimmy as your 3rd star.

We have plenty of wings to develop in Zhaire, Shamet ,Korkamaz...

Jojo)/ Amir/ Bolden
Simmons/Muscala
Roco/kork/ zhiare
Butler/ Shamet /Zhaire
Redick/TJ

AD is Ainge’s white whale. He wants him so bad he can taste it. And he’s been waiting patiently to get him. Not saying he will, but it won’t be because he underbid.

And I’m the king of saying Ainge is cheap and always wants the BKN deal and then blabs to the media afterwards about how he “almost” got it done but the other team were idiots.

Also Horford’s not opting out. No one is giving him another big deal at his age. He’ll be an MLE guy going forward whether it’s next year or two years from now, so he’ll take the extra year of max cash.

Seems to me it’s time to call PHX and ORL and see what the offers are.

Raymond Brothers has 2 other clients on Orlando. Could be a real landing spot for Fultz.

Why would anyboby give something meaningful for Fultz right now? He didn't really show signs of progress in preseason. At this point I see teams taking a flyer on him if it's basically for free and there is no point in that for us.

i would still prefer to trade cov instead of dario.

cov+fultz for butler. im somewhat worried about butlers personality, but at least we know he can produce on the court.

plus this way...we would have embiid, ben, jimmy's cap hold PLUS 40 mio cap space (calc. with a projected salary cap of 109m for 19/20) for a 4th star. its a golden opportunity to set up a dynasty

Because a lot of teams are incapable of acquiring talent any other way other than to assume risk and trade for an underperformer that they can attempt to reclaim.

I'm not trading Robert Covington he is a all nba defender on a solid contract . He fits in seamlessly as a 3 and D player. Dario can't defend multiple positions and is due for a contact that possible exceeds what Covington makes. Hell no !!! I want Roco, Simmons,JoJo and Butler together.

dario cant defend multiple position but is that mandatory in a team with embiid, ben and butler? on the other side. cov cant dribble, drive or pass for his life. while he developed on d a lot from his undrafted time, he still has the same bball iq on offense. dario would complement the team much better than cov.

PLUS. while cov is on a reasonable contract, dario is still on his rookie bargain deal at ~3m which gives us more flexibility to round the roster out after we signed the 4th star.

In two years:
- Covington will turn 30
- Saric will no longer be on his rookie contract

As far as I'm concerned, they'll both be gone in two years.

I'd rather just keep cycling 1st round contracts through the system and signing 1 year vets. That's the smartest way to do it, IMO.

30 is young. Roco can defend on switches at a all nba level. Dario is limited when he isn't making wide open 3's. Ben will transition to closer to the basket. Drio is the expendable player.

They're both expendable because neither are playmakers. They're role players. Ideally, you want your role players cheap and with short term.

Robert Covington is all nba defender that happens to be a role player. This board really undervalues Covington. However fanboys Dario.

So is Andre Roberson and Patrick Beverley. I wouldn't want them on multiyear contracts passed their 30th birthday, either.

Covington is 28 on a great deal. He is a all nba defender. I rather trade sario before his next deale

We could’ve traded both for Kawhi, but decided to be frugal and hinge our chances at a third superstar on free agency next summer or Markelle Fultz.

Not true. Spurs got a all Star in DeRozan.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
