I wonder how much Tyus Jones is gonna get in this FA.

Jones and Morris would be nice vet min additions that fill needs.

How do you think this batch of the USA team would fare in the Olympics? Is there any chance of an upset? They are composed mostly of post-prime players. I think the chances were much higher before Embiid decided to join them.

I have little to no interest in watching it. Looks like a collection of ball dominant (Curry, Holiday, and Adebayo are the exceptions) future HOFers 'medal chasing', as it were. The only interesting thing will be who gets the least minutes, although there will be a lot of blowouts where everyone plays. I'd love to see them lose, but it's highly unlikely.

I think France has a chance. Canada should have the talent to make it competitive, but I feel like they’re a bit dysfunctional.

Tyus Jones just had his best season as a pro. Can't imagine he can be had for peanuts.

So did Oubre with Charlotte, wouldn’t count on it but market can dry up on these guys. Only so many teams with above the minimum to spend, only so many of those teams that could use a small guard.

When people talk about the Sixers, they often end with, "if Embiid is healthy in the playoffs." But doesn't the same apply to the Celtics with Porzingis?

Consider this: if the Celtics faced healthy opponents in the East and had to rely heavily on Porzingis, leading to him missing the finals, they probably wouldn't make it to the finals or would struggle against the Mavs.

We have seen what the 76ers look like without Embiid, a play-in team.
The Celtics without Porzingis still make it to the ECF. Despite who they play healthy or not.

Now with PG the 76ers are probably not a play-in team but they are holding the ship together with spit and tape until Embiid returns. Not so much with the Celtics.

It's going to be great when Johannes Voigtmann trips Embiid and he has to miss the first 2 months of the season, sigh.

When I got the alert I could not have been less surprised. Twitter meme'd into existence since their first practice.

I keep saying this. Joel at least ALWAYS is on the court and is impactful during every single playoff run, he's missed games... Yet ended every run as the Sixers best player even in 2019 when they were -1000 with him off the floor... Even this year with 1 leg and 1 eye when they would lose by double digits in the few minutes he left.

For the Knicks Randle has a big injury and performance playoff decline. He doesn't play hurt either. Also Brunson would've missed the rest of the playoffs with his hand. OG has a history as well and Robinson is as bad as Porzingis.

Porzingis has literally never finished a playoff series... Never, unless you want to count the finals when they let him run a victory lap in the 4th quarter after missing almost all of the playoffs. You're right if they even played the Knicks or Bucks healthy, nevermind Joel..... Trouble. Because in addition to that brown and Tatum offensively are clearly #2 options that can't consistently score against tougher defenses

George left home in LA for the biggest bag.

Brunson left a giant bag on the table to stay home in NY.

Priorities.

Neither of them are wrong priority wise though. But, one of them is definitely smarter.... I'll leave that up to interpretation

Brunson signed for the most he could right now so his max would get bigger later on, yeah, is a risky move because you have to play those years before getting the money. But at the end he's still gonna get more money than just outright signing a max now.

This is probably the last big contract George is gonna get.

All of this to say, i don't judge priorities like this. Also, is a plus on my book if you squash money from owners

It's up to everyone to decide their priorities for themselves. That was the point, not who's right or wrong.

Although, pretty sure Brunson will be getting a call from the PA.

Maybe quietly, Brunson's father might become the highest paid assistant coach in NBA history.
