I would also like to see the guaranteed money each year. Can it be more in the first year and less in the second year?

Ask and yee shall receive
Larry Nance, Jr. - 11.2 (so the aggregated approach could work)
Jalen Johnson - 4.5 (gonna take a boatload of picks)
Corey Kispert - $5.7
Jonathan Kuminga - $7.6 (one to watch if Lauri goes to GSW and Ainge wants picks over player)
Bobby Portis - 12.5 (might need to get creative here)
Ayo Dosunmu - 7.0 (just keeping my dream alive)
Jabari Smith - 9.7 (would Hou actually do it?)
Tari Eason - 3.7 (see above)
Keegan Murray - 8.8 (same thing as Kuminga)
Trey Lyles - 8 (I don't see why we'd do it, but it fits)
Dean Wade - 6.2 (6'9" PF)
Kelly Olynyk - $12.8 (I'd be shocked if we made the effort to aggregate for him)
Chris Boucher - $10.8 (could pretty easily aggregate to get one of Nurse's old PF)

Per Bobby Marks: Sixers can take back salary up to the $178 or so threshold.

Think Sixers will end up above 1st apron so contracts would have to be equal or less. But they can aggregate contracts, put KJ with some of the minimum guys to get pretty high up.

Yes. They can’t take back more than they send out, if the post-transaction team salary exceeds $178.1M.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
I bet a big part of the KJ Martin deal was the politics with Oubre/C. Martin. Hard to say you're going to give him more (up to 2x) just as trade bait.
Still good players out there making that much (K. Murray, Eason, Kuminga). However, all of these guys would probably cost a decent amount of draft capital.

Waiting until Gary Trent is announced by Woj. It would be awesome if Morey lands us another Oubre.

Count me out on Trent Jr. I really like him but not with this roster. We might be worse at both rebounding and defense if we keep rounding out the roster with guys under 6’6”. The league is going big and we’re lagging behind.

They are going to be over the 1st apron once they sign two more vet min guys. So it will be a 100% match. But they can aggregate as they are under the 2nd apron. Should have given Martin more. But Yossi mentioned if no trade for KJ comes available, they could pivot and salary dump him and sneak under the tax. Tax savings and a slice of that juicy Phoenix tax payment sounds great, don't it?

I don't know I think their size would be fine. Especially if they make a trade for a PF at thr trade deadline. I'll use an ideal, yet unlikely option in Murray as an example.ProcessDoctor wrote:Count me out on Trent Jr. I really like him but not with this roster. Embiid / Drummond
George & Murray / C. Martin, Oubre, Vet?
Maxey & GTJ / Oubre, Gordon, Lowry
Pretty big starting lineup. You can go big or small. Good depth. A good amount of options for lineups.
That being said, even with GTJ's flaws, I would be shocked if he signed for the minimum.

Maybe, but I personally doubt it. Those guys likely have more guaranteed dollars, job security, and playing time. I’m sure they can understand that KJ is getting a contract that is widely reported to be used as trade fodder. I think it had more to do with the luxury tax cost of paying a vet min guy $16 million, and getting that close to the second apron. The Sixers owners are paying more than face value on that contract just for some trade deadline optionally. It makes more sense to go with a lower number and aggregate salaries if the right trade presents itself. I think there is almost zero chance Morey and ownership thought giving KJ $16 million/year was the best strategy, but only offered $8 million/year due to the politics of upsetting Caleb and Kelly’s feelings.

Wow just saw the Brunson news. Crazy to pass on that money but he’s still making $40M a year so I can’t blame him for prioritizing winning. This is probably one of the benefits you get when you trade for & sign all your stars best friends lol.
He's making $40 freaking million a year, which will set him and his family up for several lifetimes, is at a place he obviously loves on a contending team that he has helped to remain a contender, has I'm sure more than a few endorsement opportunities in NYC, and gets to play with his buddies.
What, exactly, did he "leave on the table" aside from simply more money that he'll never need? It never fails to crack me up when people (not directed at you!), fueled by the media, act as if everyone on the planet is only about grabbing every last penny even at the expense of a situation where they and their family might be extremely happy.
We're about to find out if Paul George remains content if things aren't immediately rosy in Philly, given this was last on his list of hopeful destinations and he essentially came here because of the four year max deal.

Correct. I didn’t want to make a definitive statement because I wasn’t sure if there could be a trade where they take back more in salary, but because it’s non guaranteed, their team salary could still end up under the 1st apron. Due to that, I just rephrased what Marks said, but wasn’t sure how they could realistically make a trade to take on more salary and stay under the 1st apron,
