He’ll be traded in a week tops, and then you won’t be around to apologize. It’s cool.

In case you didn't notice... I'm the senior guy here... and why would I apologize for someone else making himself the laughingstock of the sports world?

Run along little done-done.

The Sixers don’t have leverage here simply because you want them to. You can’t fine this guy for the whole year lol, there is NO precedent for this. Morey waited it out as long as he could, but now the jig is up. He overplayed his hand on a diminishing asset, get the best deal you can now and pray Maxey steps up in a big way.

I'm sorry, are you mentally ill or uninformed?

Of *course* they can fine him the whole year- they can fine him for FOUR YEARS. They can fine him for every day he doesn't show up to play. It's called EMPLOYMENT ... and it's not a "He Said/She Said" - it's a contract, with a contracted Collective Bargaining Agreement, By-Laws, Rules, Regulations, Etc.

Morey is doing the OPPOSITE of overplaying his hand now. It's entirely on Simmons. You want to be the one to look like a fool, be our guests. The game is not going to stop. Maybe we won't be "as good" without him, but the games will still get played, he just won't be paid.

It's the literal and figurative definition of "Go Pound Sand" for $1,600 , Alex.... DAILY DOUBLE!

Fine Ben for four years. Yeah, you’re definitely a moron

Formal warnings to you both

Ben for Wall pls. Philadelphia and their fans get the anti Ben. Not afraid to shoot, not afraid to drive and has an eternal green light.

Ben (and I) get to be apart of Jalen Green's meteoric rise to superstardom, and NBA champions in the next three years.

I can't imagine you and Ben ever being apart.

The roblem with the entire situation is that the Sixers are with their backs on the Wall. Trading Simmons and getting almost nothing back would also likely mean that Embiid's window (and possibly era) is now over. Morey's days as a GM in the league might similarly be over again after such a development. The Sixers dont have much option here which is why they are still keeping Simmons, hoping to get a better trade in the season or next year. Its not very likely though. Its also very hard to see Simmons playing another game for the Sixers.

Its infuriating that during the time when the Sixers had assets, cap space and could make moves, they had Brand and Colangelo as GM's who are the ones to blame for the current mess. I dont really fault Morey at all here. He tried to trade Simmons last year and tries at all costs to avoid a bad trade currently.

Just wondering if Philly would consider Simmons for Jaylen Brown? I know he’s coming off a wrist injury but doesn’t seem like a long term thing to be concerned about.

This is nonsense not only can they fine him for four years they have a pretty good case that by withholding his services that his contract shouldn't toll which means they could fine him indefinitely.

Which I'd be more than willing to watch happen as a fan rather than take a garbage offer.

At this point I'd be fine with moving him for Brown who I always liked as a prospect. I don't really see the fit with already having Smart on the roster though

I hear the Sixers argument that Neubeck laid out in his latest article.

I think I just don't agree with where Morey has their title odds. If he's not willing to pivot back, take a bunch of picks, and then wait for the next star to come free... it likely means he has their title odds >=2%. And I think we have enough data to know that a Ben Simmons/Joel Embiid/Tobias Harris-led team has a 0% chance at a title.

They should be looking to simply maximize value. Whatever form that takes.

Story of this entire rebuild.

Doubling down on mistakes and not adjusting quickly. And they try to justify it by either “having the longest view in the room” or “going against the grain”.

Never thought I'd have to say these words to a Celtics fan that proposed the trade, but: no way the Celtics would do that.

Use your head. They’re not going to fine him for four years, let alone one. It’s just not going to happen, I don’t care how long his contract is for. The nba isn’t the real world, sorry to break it to you.

I’m not entirely sure but I think Wiggins had to get
Vaccinated to play for team Canada. If he is not
Vaccinated then he can’t play home games for GS.
