Seriously!!! Am I wrong for thinking he should be going in for the procedure tonight?

At the very least it should be scheduled by now. Each day of recovery is crucial.

Gotta wait for the swelling to go down I imagine. Guessing he's swollen up like a grapefruit right now.

He'd be in the hands of the surgeons now....those top guys are stars.

I'd question everything when he's in the hands of our butchers though, ie initial diagnosis and recovery.

Seasons pretty much over. Maybe they get a game in the first round but Joel is the one irreplaceable piece on this team.
Orbital bone is no joke, there is no way he comes back anytime soon and the Sixers wont rush it either.

He will be back by game 1 of the first round.

You'd have to think so. Is there any reason to believe this is not something that can be worked through with a mask, for at least part of the recovery time?

This sucks. Gonna ruin Filly's playoff seeding. Plus he may miss a few games... why does this happen to the playoffs every year now

I don’t care where we are seeded. As long as we get Embiid back we can beat anyone.

Markelles shoulder has really been a problem this season.

It’s the Sixers, they don’t follow the timeframe of other teams

It's really important that they don't have to play Cleveland, Boston, AND Toronto. They need to play Indy in the 4/5 series. Trying to go through all three of those teams (and then GSW or Hou) is just too much to ask for a bunch of guys with no playoff experience.

Philly is a very, very good team. But NBA history is just not kind to first timers. It always takes a few years of adversity to overcome.

The worst thing about this organisation is that we are nowhere near knowing the real return timetable.

Most teams will give the fans a realistic estimate and their world class trainers will get the player ready.

Our idiots are paralyzed with fear of saying the wrong thing so they say nothing........then our worlds worst trainers seemingly never get our players back in a reasonable time.

Its always at least double the time of a normal professional sports team.

Ummm, cause he basically called Hawks trash. If you lose to them as a leader of a team it will look pathetic.

So....all the great work he's done all year for our team....and the one joke comment and one loss....now he'd be pathetic?

Show some loyalty to the guy.

It was a joke but this is the NBA.. you don't go dissing teams. You don't give teams ammunition to win... and like it or not he has given Atlanta players ammunition to beat us now that they would not have had prior to the game. Ben wants to make sure we beat Atlanta.

The only positive is at least Embiid gets his rest and won't get a bad injury to his knee or back in the remaining regular season games... which I was really worried about.

Orbital fracture isn't great but it could have been much much worse. We don't know if tomorrow he would have gone out and tears his ACL and misses 12 months.

I can't see Joel missing the first round of playoffs... even if its against medical orders.

It is only 2 weeks before the start of the playoffs and I think Joel will wear a mask if needed just to play in the first round. We are not like GSW where we can wait for a player until the second round because it is not guaranteed that we can get there without Embiid.

Wake me up April 14th. Then we can decide if it’s time to surrender.

It will reflect very poorly on them if they don’t figure out a way to get him ready, though. All the other top players with this injury miss a game or two, mask up, and keep going.
