Hell no. I know you wanted Ingram over Simmons and not that high on him but come on. Simmons is an elite prospect. He's a better prospect than both. This is ridiculous.

Calm down. I like both Ingram and Ben Simmons. I eventually acknowledged Simmons to be the better prospect heading to the draft. I just value Ingram more than most people. He's slowly been playing well actually.

Back to the topic, I don't it's ridiculous to compare Ben Simmons with Fultz or Ball. High degree of uncertainty (no NBA games yet) with all three guys while all have been at the same tier of productivity in college.

I am calm. I'll backtrack and say it's not ridiculous but I don't think Fultz and Ball are on Simmons' level.

2016-2017 College Basketball / '17 NBA Draft Thread Volume 2

Post#1885 » by Sasashi » Fri Apr 7, 2017 2:18 am

The first 3 times i ran the lottery mock we get 1st pick all 3 times....1 an 4, 1 and 4 and 1 and 5. Fultz in philly....

But looking at the standings now, the worst we could do is probably end up with dennis smith or malik monk....i can live with that.

The worst case for the sixers pick is 7 or 8, and if that happened they'd have 4 and 7 or 8. Would be absolutely fine with Tatum and Monk or even Monk and Justin Jackson if it fell that way. Just not enamored by Smith but probably do need to watch more of his games to be fair. I don't see this as a must draft pg scenario. Fultz and Ball are high end prospects and easy picks, Smith isn't that close to them.

I wouldn't even entertain it, tbh.

Combo guards that give little effort on the defensive end are a dime a dozen. These types of players get pumped out in pairs and handfuls, annually.

It's not often you find a 6'10"+ 2-way player that rebounds, distributes and scores at a high level. Simmons is one of the more unique prospects to come along in some time.

Fultz nor Ball aren't on Simmons level. Its insulting to Simmons to be compared to them to be honest. He's better by a wide margin. Simmons is a freak prospect on par with Embiid , Durant, Lebron, Towns, AD, Greek Freak type talent. Don't insult Simmons.

Dennis Smith has gone from being ridiculously over-rated pre-season, to under-rated pre -draft. He is absolutely in the same tier as Fultz.

I really hope we don't pick Ball. His father is just brain dead and we don't need more distractions.

I think Fultz coming to Philly and Ball heading to LA would be a nice contrast that could lead to a pretty sweet rivalry in the future. Fultz wants to be here, and Ball wants to be there. Both teams have been stuck at the bottom these last few years, and have been competing for the same top prospects. LA came out with DLo over Okafor, and we came out with Embiid/Simmons over Randle/Ingram. A new rivalry with them would be fun for fans and great for the NBA.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Bona/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Drummond/Broome

After Fultz should be DSJR on our big board. He is the second most talented prospect and 2nd best scoring talent.

76ers need to upgrade there backcourt in this draft and focus on a scoring talents such as Fultz and DSJR who can compliment Simmons at Point Forward.

Don't get me wrong Balls size, vision aathleticism is intriguing. 76ers need a dynamic scoring guard who can breakdown defenses. Fultz and DSJR is the best prospects for our needs.

Not gonna get into the race BS that his dad is spouting off about. UCLA had a more than good chance to cut the nets down with the team they had this year. It had nothing to do with skin color. D'Aron Fox torching Ball for 39 points probably was the biggest issue. That kids dad is a complete moron. It all started with the Ball being better than Curry comments.
I'm still not opposed to drafting him, but it sure as Hell seems like he is forcing his way to LA as much as he possibly can. Any team with a top three pick that isn't the Lakers should be concerned about that imo. I'd rather see us draft a player that wants to be here. If we draft Dennis Smith jr (for example) and he wants to be here, it'll make it easier for everyone.

He's not trying to make a point. He's trying to get people to talk about him.

Yeah, Lavar Ball is clearly an-

Wait a minute... we ARE talking about him

I think Lonzo and LiAngelo got more of the Mom's genes and are laid back whereas Lamelo seems kind of like an annoying POS like his dad

At least that's what I gathered from listening to the family members speak

I feel bad for Lonzo

Probably the most contentious ranking on my entire big board would be having Miles Bridges at number 4 and in the same mini-tier as Josh Jackson and Lonzo Ball. So let's compare Bridges' numbers side by side with Jackson's, as well as Jayson Tatum's and Johnathan Isaac's. Among the four Bridges actually averaged the most points per 70 possessions against top 100 competition and did so on the highest eFG% while also being the best defensive rebounder and shot blocker outside of Isaac. His assist numbers are below Jackson's but almost identical to Tatum's and above Isaac's. Despite being criticized for turnover frequency, he, Tatum and Jackson had almost identical turnovers per 70 poss. He doesn't create his own shot as well as Tatum and Jackson and doesn't defend as well as Isaac, but there is an argument that he has the most well rounded game of the entire group, or at the very least, right below Jackson. He is also the youngest of the four, more than a year younger than Jackson and half a year younger than Isaac. Actually, outside the consensus number one player in the entire draft, Markelle Fultz, the only other college prospects younger than Bridges are guys like Jarrett Allen and Harry Giles, who have struggled to live up to their preseason expectations against D1 competition. This is all before we get to the fact that Bridges is probably the most explosive player in this entire draft, with high end strength and the quickness to play either forward position.
