Having rookie contract players make that jump into being legitimate rotation players (Rozier) must feel so nice. I'm hoping Luwawu makes that jump this year. Probably not until next year, though.

He may even shoot 37% from the field this year.

TLC has already supplanted the minutes of Stauskas. His further opportunity is to take 10 more minutes from Bayless.

Either Lonzo Ball has shot 4-14 every single game for the last month or I'm stuck in a perpetual state of deja vu or some freaky groundhog day reality.

He's shot over 30% from the field in 2 out of 11 games. Hasn't shot 50% yet.

Are you forgetting Covington (not technically a rookie contract but might as well be one), Holmes, and McConnell?

No, I meant when a previously poor performer finally makes that jump and stabilizes himself as a legit rotation player. Rozier sucked in years 1 and 2. So did Luwawu as a rookie.

Ball was 4-15 not 4-14.

Fultz on one shoulder has shown me more than the next pick healthy playing 30+ minutes a game. Sad times

Not sure. I do know he has now failed to get to double figures in points scored in 9 of his 11 games now.

If someone had told me the Lakers were going to waste at Pick 2 in the draft someone that averages 8 points, is a borderline awful defender, shoots 29% from the field and only 23% from 3 point land.... I would have fallen to the ground laughing. Yet some people are still adamant Ball is playing well.

man, Lonzo ball may be shooting poorly but he's still not as bad as some are making him out to be.

Sure his Dad is a clown, the Lakers make you want to punch someone and the whole circus around him puts him in the spotlight, but he's still doing some things on the floor.

8.8 its 6reb 7ast 1stl .6blk.

Hes Rajon Rondo/ MCW right now.

Shooting poorly is putting it lightly.

You also don't draft MCW at 2 and even Prime Rondo is a bit of a reach there.

He has time of course to get better and isn't a lost cause by no means...

but I am not going to lie the whole "bu-but look at the other stuff he does" stuff sounds like me gushing about Turner's rebounding doe.

The difference between what Ball has been shooting and what Rondo has shot is probably larger than the difference between Rondo and Lebron.

He's young and it doesn't really matter long term but he's been objectively terrible so far.

All the hyping from the west coast media makes it so much easier to hate him, but he's been terribly misused thus far.

It's sort of the same as letting Ben Simmons stand on the perimeter and forcing him to shoot 3's, just not his game at this point. He needs a guard next to him who can penetrate the defense so he can run around screens and let him read-and-react. Plus, he's been much better with his on-ball defense than I thought he would be.

If you arent a threat to score as a PG in this age, you’re likely average at best.

Who cares if you are an elite passer when you can’t create gravity and will just clog the lanes?

The game isnt played like NBA jam that is 90% on transition.

I dont know which talk show said it. But him being an average scorer (14ppg) in NCAA just confirms the red flag.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
