Also, crazy how high Simmons is on this list. It’s pretty clear that SGA has already done enough to pass him, and Siakam too.

I think Yao is too low: if you say it’s because his career is too short, then why is Drazen above him? If you say Drazen is higher because of his International career, why is Sabonis lower than both?

Embiid is #8.

Yea Joker has catapulted himself ahead of not only Giannis, but also Dirk imo. It feels like they put Dirk that high out of respect.

Joker is arguably higher than Hakeem already too.

Jokic IMO is in the GOAT conversation. He just needs 1-2 more rings. He’s on the top of this list for me.

That was the obvious one that jumped out for me. I know he only has one ring so far, but I've never seen an international player have the consistent impact in winning games as Jokic does. I'd put him above Hakeem, although comparing players from different eras is a fool's errand

Jokic may end up a better player than Hakeem, but no way he has anywhere near the resume Olajuwon has.

That second championship run is one of the most remarkable in sports. They made the run from the 6 seed, defeating a 60 win Stockton/Malone Jazz team in the first round, a 59 win Suns team led by Barkley in the second round, a 62 win Spurs team led by MVP Robinson and Rodman in the WCF. He absolutely destroyed the MVP in that series in his personal matchup and then SWEPT a 57 win Penny/Shaq Magic in the finals, thoroughly outplaying Shaq in their matchup as well. Meanwhile, Jokic beat 42, 45, 43, and 44 win teams to win the title. Objectively, it's one of the least impressive championships ever won in any major sport and we cannot yet say it's an outlier because it's the only one he has won. Maybe he needs the benefit of playing awful teams to actually get one?

The prior year the Rockets won the title I wonder if anyone here can even guess who the second best player on that team was? It's a tossup between a few guys and none of them would be any better than the 4th or 5th best player these days on a championship contender.

People are forgetting how incredible of a player Olajuwon was.

Great points, and you nailed it concerning the '94-95 title team. I always wondered what might have happened if that had been one of the teams the Bulls got in the Finals. The Bulls had no answer for Hakeem, and Drexler made them a different team.

In '93, it could have been any one of 5-6 guys, but Cassell and Maxwell came up big in the Finals against the Knicks. Maybe John Starks, whose 2-18 game 7 had as much to do with it as anyone.

Based on his highschool injury history, he was always going to be a longshot. Still a shame to see him lose the love for the game and step away at such a young age.

I hope this opens up space for NBA coverage to get better. Woj is hugely responsible for the rise of mouthpiece journalism. The decline of local newspapers also played a massive role in sports coverage getting so bad.

Woj's biggest accomplishment is hosting the worst podcast of all time.

Woj is the epitome of the plague social media has caused in regards to sports reporters and writers. These dudes, national and even local, gain "followings" online and start to think they're the players. Look at that graphic announcing his retirement. I thought it was something to do with Curry making an retirement announcement.
