Lol. I love it. After all the comments and jokes about Porzingis not wanting to workout for us and people saying Simmons didn't want to come to the Sixers I love that Ball won't workout for the Celtics. If we got the top pick and Ball didn't workout for us all the media would make it about the Sixers and that we stink and have no good culture and other things. With the Celtics they are making this about Ball. Whatever. But if the Celtics want Ball they can still draft him.

I hope this slight plays to the most petty aspect of Ainge's personality and he drafts him out of spite.

I hope the Lakers pass on him, too. I just know that Vivek Ranadive cannot pass up the opportunity to get Ball. And the thought of him trading up to us for Ball is so delightful. And the thought of Ball in the most unglamorous market in the NBA also makes me happy too.

Fultz is BPA. But among Fultz, Ball and Josh Jackson, I think Josh Jackson fits Ainge's "preferred prospect" the most.

Ok, and what about his height, is he really 6'3 or less?

I've heard both Kevin O'Connor and Sam vecenie(who was @ the combine) that Smith is less than 6,3 and has. 6'3 wingspan. Either way his athleticism is what makes him special so idk if his lack of length will matter early on in his career.

Smith didn't go to the combine. He doesn't have an official measurement since he measured at 6'1.5" height/6'3" wing by USA basketball in 2014 when he was 16 years old. Missed some opportunities to get another official measurement last year because of his ACL.

Teams will get a chance to measure him. If he's grown his stock could ride a little bit.

Im aware he wasn't a the combine, the point was to say that vecenie talked to GMs and scouts there. These guys get measured in college as well and I'm sure teams have access to that either way.

I agree tho, if he measured out better in team workouts he could go much higher. Only concern is that his attitude and the fact his father makes lavar look humble in comparison. Woj alluded to this in the draft podcast with mannix.

If everything checks out he's definitely the 2nd best talent in terms of potential

What is the % chance that Jackson goes 1 and Fultz falls to 3 though? Would the Lakers still pass on Markelle to draft Lonzo?

How is this news? He already said he wasn't working out for anyone other than the Lakers.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

It should be a good chance. Jackson and Ball are better prospects.

Ainge recognizing Jackson as the best winning piece in the draft is pretty high.

Lakers passing on Fultz is also pretty high, IMO.

I think Ball is more than just a basketball player to L.A.. He's box office and marketing.

I can see Fultz dropping to 3 and becoming a bust. I'm not saying that he will be, but his short area speed and PG ability are in question. On the college level he plays like a mini version of the NBA version of Harden. Will he have to adjust and will be able to do so...

I wouldn't want him to run my team, but if he came here then he wouldn't be. He would fit perfectly next to Simmons.

Lakers need a four or five. Not gonna be there in this draft (again). Lol. Josh Jackson is no less redundant with Jaylen Brown than Fultz or Ball is with their bevy of guards. Don't trade those picks, Danny. Carry on!

Before it was just alleged. Now it's official and confirmed and Lonzo told Ainge no.

Fultz will probably have a similar progression arc as Dlo. Which will disappoint the people that project him to be a star. But he should be a pretty solid mid-volume scorer right away with a future of being a high volume scorer 3 years down the line very probable.

Personally after PG I see them going after Anthony Davis.

If he's available for relatively cheap, I'd take him so quickly.

I have Fultz over DLo. I see Fultz upside as a slasher and FTr much brighter than DLoz.
