Because even if you get a guy like Haliburton or Brogdon and if Maxey and Milton dont show any improvement on their game its very likely going to be just a second round exit.

And if you look around, taking the teams who took a breather are clearly in better shape and we may want to follow their footsteps.

The more talent that can contribute right away we can get for Ben, the less reliant are we on Maxey and Milton’s development. And this goes the other way around.

Which teams are you referring to taking a breather? There were teams ransacked by covid and injuries, not sure if those were “breathers”. The reality is even making the second round of the playoffs is tough and plenty of good teams don’t do that.

Raptors and Warriors? I thought they retooled during the offseason and is in a much better place than last season(s).

Im not saying they are contenders but they are definitely in better place

Hmm..

Kind of torn about this.

Like generally, i support this team. Even if they replace the key core parts of the franchise (i.e. Embiid or owners).

But I may support the team but may not support the direction of where the team wants to go. And I may voice that opinion on this message board. Where Im not expecting people to agree or disagree with the direction i want to take but I just want to voice it out and see if fellow fans also feel the same way.

And what I noticed if the fanbase reach a consensus, it gets relayed to social media and to the msm that leads to the team taking notice.

If this team wants to repeat years of Iguodala basketball, I just want to tell you straight up that I dont agree with it just as I didnt agree about it before and was pushing for a complete rebuild in the year 2000s. And maybe we just need to take a breather or a year to tank, not necessarily a complete rebuild.

Fan: Enjoy and support your team!

Team: drafts Evan Turner, trades for Andrew Bynum, drafts Jahlil Okafor, hires slimy GM at the direction of his father, nearly kills prospect with sesame seeds.

We take a Kyrie for Simmons swap and don’t look back right? And don’t hold it against Daryl if it doesn’t work out?

Recalled majority of the board including Bodner were high on Evan Turner.

Alot were. Myself included, IIRC Negrodamus was 1000% in on Boogie. The thing is we are fans, and our opinion will be wrong very, very, often because we are not basketball experts, aren't privy to workouts or scouting information/tools. Just because we support a decision at the time doesn't mean we can't be frustrated with the outcome. We expect the GM to be a better judge of talent than us. Nature of the beast.

That might apply to the Warriors from 2 years ago, they rode Steph pretty hard last year.

I think the variable would be if Embiid gets an injury that is going to keep him out for over a month you could start to see more of a shift in focus towards 2022-2023.

Don't get me started on that draft.

Not the boards' job to pick the players.

2 guys that aren't particularly the healthiest to go with our other guy that isn't particularly the healthiest (and TJ McConnell). At this point I really don't care but nothing on Indiana is particularly exciting...besides TJ McConnell.

Not too interested in both but I can see it working when both are healthy. Im also more interested in the picks and ill be looking to trade Brogdon and Caris in the offseason if we ever land them.

no sh*t. i'll correct it, most opinions in this board thought Turner was the right choice at that time. why the snarky response?

I recalled Kobe Bryant was high on Evan Turner 8-)

Why are people in the Sixers front office citing reasons for inquiring about a player on another team to reporters? What is the point?

Brogdon is a good player. LeVert is fools gold. Yes, he can create his own shot, but no, it’s not good offense. I can’t see a guy like Morey ever valuing LeVert more than a throw in.

Maybe another deal is close with a different team and they want to put the heat on and make it seem like they are really interested with Indiana. Long shot here but maybe it’s something with kyrie and morey is pushing Brooklyn to decide

Wasn't trying to be snarky, was just saying the front office gets paid a lot of money to give us players to enjoy watching, regardless of our opinions on some 20 year olds after watching a couple games on tv and some youtube clips.
