I mean it seems fairly likely Harden feels Morey lied to him, and is right to feel that way given he gave up money to help the Sixers out. Do people seriously believe Harden did that because he's just a nice guy?

Imagine Joe Smith and the Wolves but we do it for max cap space for next season.

I think he did it to make room to pay his friends.

Leave us not forget all that noise about Harden heading to Houston early in the season. From his camp.

If Harden had not gone cheap and had representation none of this would have been a problem. I'm going to be seriously interested to see what he signs for next season.

Some supposed knicks insider Is saying knicks have had some recent b communication with the 6ets. Harden would be open to a move to New York

It looks kinda simple from an outsider looking at the 2 big trades waiting to happen , just switch them.
Harden to Miami for Herro and a pick
Dame to Clippers for PG plus whatever

Harden joins Jimmy in a Miami retirement condo with enough nudie bars to shake a stick at
Dame fits better with Kawahi than PG
PG gets to be the main man surrounded by up and coming studd guards
Philly add a top sniper and a precious pick

I hope James is a man of conviction. And he sits out and does not come to any 76ers activities until he's traded or until the season is over.

Knicks to me were always the best option.

Could care less how Harden feels. He is a declining player. Signing him to a max deal would be worse than that Westbrook contract.

What would a Knicks return look like? I know we are in no position to be picky at this stage, but I'd be pretty underwhelmed adding Julius Randle or RJ Barrett to the Embiid and Maxey duo.
I mean it seems fairly likely Harden feels Morey lied to him, and is right to feel that way given he gave up money to help the Sixers out. Do people seriously believe Harden did that because he's just a nice guy?
This whole thing is a mess, but i do want to make a clarifying point on Harden taking a pay-cut last year. Yes he took a $13 million pay-cut (taking the $35 million salary versus the $48 million player option). But... he also received an extra one year player option for $35 million (the one he just exercised). So he received an extra $22 million ($35-13 million) than he would have received, if he just opted into last year at $48 million. That extra $22 million was guaranteed even if Harden had a career ending injury last year. So Harden did get something for taking that pay-cut last year. In hindsight, Harden getting this year's player option at $35 million in exchange for taking his $13 million pay-cut worked out very well for Harden. Given how soft the free agent interest in him was this year, the extra $22 million was well worth it.

I’m having an issue with this to me it seems as if Harden isn’t showing any accountability. I also am not a big fan of this he took a paycut to help the team. He took a paycut to get his guys PJ Tucker and Danuel House in. Also it seems as if he would have left for Houston if they wanted him. So he also could have opted out and went to sign with the clippers. But he chose to opt in assuming he could force his way to the clippers.

The clippers don’t seem to want him that much if they are letting Terrance Mann hold the trade up.

I propose if the teams can’t come to the agreement on a trade I would not be opposed to allowing Harden to opt out and to sign with the clippers as a free agent. If they could do a void like that which I don’t think they can.

So the whole Morey lied stuff I don’t understand because Harden looking like he had a foot in Houston. Also I find it ironic he wanted to play with Tucker and House and after one season he’s out of there. Kind of like leaving the 76ers stuck. I know the bags are mixed on those 2.

All the Houston leaks tell you all you need to know about Morey's "promise" to James. There wasn't one.

Morey is not responsible for what James thought he should do.

Harden had literally one job: DON’T CHOKE and QUIT and he could have wrote his ticket.
always a jump shot away.

Has it ever been confirmed Mann was the piece that stalled trade talks or did we all just repeat it continually that it became fact? Genuinely asking.

Not that he was the piece but it’s been widely reported that they were unwilling to include Mann and/or firsts.

Classic lol. I've been numb since the Kawhi shot but one thing is for sure, the Sixers are certainly more relevant than the pre process days.
