I don't get why people are so apprehensive about Shai's shot.

It's a pretty stroke and he was a 50-40-80 guy as an 18 year old freshman.

Gotta find a GM that's willing to trade a future draft pick. Unfortunately the Pelicans' Demps already traded theirs and Colangelo is our GM, so that eliminates two dummies to trade with.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Abdur-Rahkman is off to a horrendous start from the field, but he really can get whatever shot he wants. His handle and iso game is insane.

If this Michigan team wins it all, what a confusing team to pull it off. Couldn't do it with Trey Burke, Stauskas, LeVert, DJ Wilson, Derrick Walton, Zak Irvin.. But this one... Moritz Wagner... What a crazy year.

I don't know if I'm bias but after Doncic, JJJ&Bamba, it's bad from 4-8 range. Then Mikal, Miles, Zhaire and Shai alll seems intriguing at 9-12. That 9-12 group isnt as sexy as the 4-8 group but they may play just as good or even better on court impact.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Thats the "gotta have good scouts or else I'm getting fired" zone. In which some poor GM either reaches for a guy or stays chalk...and gets blown the **** out regardless because he passed on the secret talent. The guys in this area have major flaws that probably dooms them longterm....

but then again that is generally always the case in that area...but this year its a lot harder to overhype guys it seems as their flaws are more in your face.

Yeah, I really like some guys in the 9-12 range.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Mikal Bridges
Lonnie Walker (maybe I'm overrating him a bit because of his defense)

Are probably my favorites in that range.

Gary Trent would be an interesting pick for us. He's had some up and down performances this year, but I think he's a safe bet to be a sharpshooter in the league. And that 6'6" 215 pound size is great.

Shai is 19, turns 20 this summer but he is still 2 years younger than Mikal and thats a pretty big deal. We wouldn't even be considering a 19 year old comparison of Mikal and Shai. Sure Mikal should get credit for his development, but Shai does have a more complete package at his age than Mikal did at the same age.

Its very, very close though cause I've seen more of Mikal lately. Can't be upset with either one, unless the age bothers you or you believe we need more than just Fultz and Ben as shotcreators with no jump shots for either of them yet. If we got Bron, I would go Mikal but we won't know that before the draft. Without a big free agent this summer, I go Shai.

This Villanova team is insane. They basically have 6 guys capable of carrying a Top 3 scoring load.

Isn't SGA a point guard? How does he fit with Fultz and Simmons? Genuine question, not a take in the form of one.

Eric Paschall, holy shooting night. Villanova should beat Michigan, but nothing in this tournament has made sense.

Definitely. I've been cashing in on them every game in the tournament. I say they roll Michigan, who didn't look all that impressive tonight.

Can Brunson have at least a 10 year NBA career? Can he be a solid backup PG?

I think Shai is extremely versatile and adaptable. He's definitely a shotcreating lead guard by nature, but I think his jumper is real and could thrive off the ball. Kentucky's most effective lineup was when he shared the backcourt with fellow lead guard, Quade Green. I think it's also worth noting that both Ham Diallo and Kevin Knox had higher usage this year than Shai. I think he's shown to be equally comfortable, deferring and taking over.

Early on, I think it would be extremely beneficial for us to have either Shai or Markelle on the bench so we have a shotcreater on both units.

Lets say Fultz gets his **** together. he then replaces either JJ or Dario (if we hit in FA) in the starting lineup. TJ has probably maxed out...which means getting another creator for the second unit would be neat...more if said creator can play multiple positions if needed. At 6'6 Shai should be able to do so even if only in a pinch.

That being said, we also could use a back up wing behind Covington (and one to eventually replace him I guess)....so Bridges also makes a lot of sense.

AND then a rim protector behind Embiid would be nice too..

lots of options

You gotta take BPA who will hopefully fill one of those roles with all our picks who have potential to be Stars or good role players IMO like the Spurs.
we're good enough now to take risks and develop guys based on potential and keeping hitting and missing as long as our core stays intact.

Another stash option in the 2nd round: William McDowell-White

Very skilled and very quick Australian G.

I was thinking the Sixers should draft him with the late 1st or early 2nd to be the future backup pg, he can run the 2nd unit and he can also shoot which is a plus over TJ. Would you take him and trade TJ?
