Ross, Derozan, Fournier, Oladipo could all be dark horse targets for us as we approach the deadline. Morey won't force anything so I could very well see us making minor deals (if any) then working the buyout market.

That would really beef up our bench and give us a starting PG.
Lowry and Powell make 40 million combined. How are we ever going to match that?
We would have to add Seth Curry to a list of players as Green - Poirier - Ferguson - Scott - Bradley - Maxey - Korkmaz - ...
Powell and Lowry would be great whatsoever

If we give green, maxey, Bradley, Scott, Ferguson and Porier the salaries work.

Green, Shake, Maxey and 2 firsts for Lowry and Powell? What?!
We lack so many assets after that trade and we are not better then Nets, Lakers, Clippers

Yeah I was able to get it through the trade checker without Shake, but still needed to give up Maxey. I'm torn which one to give up, Shake's three lately has been horrible. Literally feels like he's launching a brick.

I’m sorry but this is a severe overpay for a half year rental. They are good players but the Sixers can’t and won’t pay what it would cost to keep them next year.
Honestly this trade really doesn’t put the Sixers above the lakers in the title odds anyway.

Just get Oladipo as a rental without giving up too much. Smaller contract then Lowry
Green + a 1st plus an expiring should get it done. I like Green though
Either that or get Lowry one or the other.
This team ain’t doing much without the top seed (well eventually lose it for obv reasons I have us third overall like the beginning of the year).
Different year same story
Curry
Oladipo
Simmons
Harris
Embiid
Milton
Howard
Thybulle
Get a stretch 4 that can shoot and let’s see what happens. Or keep Scott for depth
(wouldn’t be opposed to moving Milton/Curry for potential higher picks either but that’s for the off-season special lol. I’d like to have a raffle between two youngins for the starter spot down the line. The timeline sucks ah well either that or go for Lavine in the off-season with Maxey + Milton and hope for the best.)

I would still be very happy adding Delon Wright (maybe Wayne Ellington too) and Bjelica for considerably less than Lowry would cost. More size, younger, can distribute and play D on one of Harden or Kyrie. He would cost an asset, but nothing extraordinary and is under contract next year at a nice number.

Agreed and I can't foresee Morey forcing a bigger deal if the squeeze isn't worth the juice.Skates wrote:I would still be very happy adding Delon Wright (maybe Wayne Ellington too) and Bjelica for considerably less than Lowry would cost. I'd add George Hill or even Augustin to that list of yours.

Ha, he foreshadowed it on that RTRS Twitter thing last night. Said that no one is going to trade with a team trying to win a title. It just sort of a joke. But sort of not.

Oladipo ain't the all-star he once was but in terms of what this team needs he checks all boxes. Shotcreation, defense, athleticism, positional versatility.. I think a clear role and fit here with a winning culture gives a great chance at signing him for under 30 mil per.
Substract Green 15 mil Scotts 5 mil , Ferguson 3 mil, Two centers 3 mil. Possible losing Korkmaz taken into account as well. It's worth it. He can be attained without even giving up green this year with the 8 mil dollar exception.

Add late firsts and Korkmaz with bench trash and call it a deal.
JoJo/ Howard
Simmons/ Reed / Buyout big.
Harris / thybulle /
Green/ Curry / Joe
Oladipo / Shake/ Maxey

That’s exactly the team setup I’m thinking off.
Don’t like Curry at all in the starting lineup gets real exposed on both ends without the huge guard gravity with Lillard and Doncic. I do like Bradley for me getting minutes he’s the most fundamentally sound bball player on our bench lol. Just wish he was true center size. Rate him though as a third backup (second if the opportunity presents itself).
Oladipo/Green backcourt is very sound on paper. That defense though jeeeeezus.
In my eyes for this team anyway the 3 ball is super overrated same with the Lakers. Play with our size adv Embiid/Harris
35% from three is fine for us. Ben still will be able to generate a lot of looks on the outside because there’s another ballhandler there.
Beat teams 107-100 I dig it.
Watch the Lakers defense in the playoffs
They trapped both Lillard/Harden with Caruso and Davis
Oladipo
Green
Thybulle
Simmons
Embiid
To any team good luck I’ll back that in against anyone with that kind of defense

There’s a very strong argument that Tobias is a better defensive player than Danny

On the post he’s been solid I’ll give him that but I always give the opponents a 5-6 point spread with Harris/Korkmaz/Milton give up open threes like it’s candy. Add on his knack or lack of awareness issues still he does do Covington like play’s consistently.
Danny Green should never be a ballhandler.
Harris at best is an average defender for his whole career watch him closely you’ll understand why that is. It’s his lack of awareness more than anything.
Danny Green in finals lineup works even if he shoots 34-35% from three he’s very sound defensively.
Anyway if we do vs the Nets (not worried about the Bucks) this is my matchup list:
Durant - Simmons majority, Embiid in the post, Harris for short times in the post. Would like to try Thybulle on the perimeter and tell both Simmons/Thybulle to go for steals before Durant brings the ball up (his handle is vulnerable because he’s 7ft.
Harden - Has to be Green/Simmons
Irving - He is actually the biggest threat imo in the matchup because jitterbug guards light us up. Hence why I’m high on Oladipo. Another stud perimeter defensive option. If he’s fit he’ll be Richardson on steriods
Thybulle/Oladipo he’s to jittery for Green
Simmons though is the big blanket cover for all three he’lol do a fine job with two of them.
Joe Harris - Green/Thybulle/Oladipo
Only way to beat them is to mitigate Irving’s scoring. Durant is a walking 30/6/3 death sentence just blunder his effiency as much as humanely possible
Harden I rate very highly but he’s a turnover merchant in his Rockets tenure in the Playoffs (7.1 to 4.4 turnover ratio). I want him to have at least a 5.5 turnover rate against us (30+ turnovers for the series is the aim. Same with a poor turnover ratio with Durant because we have two now three with Oladipo that can make that handle vulnerable).
Nets health is a big question mark bigger than ours is. If Irving goes off they win of course. But Thybulle/Oli is some duo to pit against him.
Doc’s got to play it smart with rotations, balance out the defense vs offense. Crunch time though if it’s close this could get ugly just hope Embiid average 35+ against them lol.
More I think about the more it makes sense to go get Oli over anyone else.
