Still do it in a second.
It's pie in the though sky because Westbrook, Simmons and Lebron would probably be the worst floor spacing big 3 of the modern era and Simmons + westbrook are completely ball dominant and such poor shooters that they are net negatives anytimes they play off the ball not to mention lebron still is at his best creating open looks which requires floor spacers and players with solid j's.
So it's bad value and a bad fit for the Lakers honestly.

lol
37 yo Bron is still way better than Joel
I like Embiid but let’s get serious here
Have you seen LeBron play recently?
It won’t happen but the Lakers should trade AD & WB for pieces that fit around Bron & assets
They’re a 1st round exit unless major changes are made
IF Simmons is one of those assets then James is still LeBron and Lakers will go to WCF minimum

There is more then one way to skin a cat. And enough with D'aron Fox take five seconds and look at his actual percentages and advanced stats. Only thing he does is create a lot of mediocre personal offense. Not saying that isnt a skill but we have a guy already in Maxey that is similar except better. I would like to get Barnes though he can hit wide open three's at a very high rate, defend, and rebound a little. You guys keep wanting to punt prime years of Embiid's career Im not going to do it myself.
Because they’re better off competing in the next 3 seasons being a 1st or 2nd seed team, similar if they stay with Dame while having a more attractive asset than Dame after 3 years.
Its the easier path based on their team make up.
While for us, I really dont think Morey is interested in a Jazz or Spurs type team. I did think he was trying to build that initially, but I gone pass through some of his interviews (check his recent one with annie duke), it sounds like his style is really more on building a superteam (2-3 top tier players).

Go full tank and enter the Chet/Jabari sweepstakes with Ben that’s actually a better compensation then Ingram and that’s it.
Seems good for both parties.
Hmm.. why not just sitout Ingram then. Then have Jabari, Ingram and Zion next year.

You keep saying you don't want to waste Embiid's prime, yet your goal is to try and emulate a team that can't make it out of the second round in good years. Haven't we been there and done that?
I suppose it depends what your ultimate goal is, but for me it's championship or bust at this point. That's what The Process was supposed to be about before Silver, the Colangelos, Brown, and Brand f***ked it up, and now it's up to Morey to essentially fill an inside straight. I'd rather him try that than settle for making the remainder of Embiid's career one where he'll never get that shot at a brass ring.

With all these G Leaguer's doing quick NBA contracts during the Omicron times wonder if Ben will consider a 10 day stint with the Bluecoats.
Say 3 games to remind a few teams what he brings to the table , of course salary will be involved so not sure Morey (The Jilted Lover) agrees.

Who’s offering better then Simmons+Maxey for Lillard?
Build a Utah Jazz type team? Who’s afraid of the Jazz?
We're not throwing in Maxey. It's Ben str8 up or no deal. Lillard is already falling off a cliff.

Way better than Joel? No he isn't, he can't even lead the Lakers to a normal playoff seed with a stacked team. Joel is a defensive anchor, Lebron barely plays defense anymore.

This is definitely the direction I hope he takes. Murray, Ja, Garland. Just a really great young guard.

that can stop just about anyone,s best player,so he can,t score great

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
its not that he can't score great ....its that he can't score at all. he's 25 and has been a 28% shooter his whole career. Great all world defense for sure...but he also makes it hard on everyone else ala Ben because you don't have to watch him except much worse because Ben could handle the ball and pass. Not saying just trade him asap but no one on this team is good enough to be untouchable right now

Bingo! This is the sams realm Houston rockets didn’t trade for Simmons. Simmons “floor” means a team won’t be bad enough to consistently get the number 1-2 pick overall. Houston didn’t want Simmons simply cause his play making can win 3-4 extra games. That’s the difference between drafting in the top 2 in the lottery and drafting in the top 6-7 range where the talent pool falls off.
Only situation I see Simmons getting traded at deadline to New Orleans if they agree Simmons will sit out the entire season to tank even more.
I do not see Simmons going on the court for any team (who’s tanking) once he’s traded this season
So Morey may end up just sitting on Simmons the entire year

Re: Simmons Trade Thread - The Ocho
Yes, Ben is this weird combo of being almost universally good to great in the regular season and being maybe good in playoffs only in specific circumstances (e.g., with two star scorers next to him). Some say he is similar to Draymond, but Draymond is better in playoffs IMO and Ben is better in the regular season. So a team would get Draymond and could still tank, but they can't do the same with Ben haha. But Ben is still a good trade chip, Morey just has to wait for this specific opportunity.
