Point being, determining toughness because of painted nails and having fun dancing is a weird and bad barometer, imo.

I'm not here to start fighting with you on here. I don't like the pick, you do... That's fine. Guess what? I'm still going to tease him about painting his nails. I doubt he loses an ounce of sleep over it and neither should you. If you're into painting your nails and dancing around in booty shorts that's totally your choice. We can still talk basketball. Don't get upset because it's not my cup of tea. At the end of the day if we are keeping McCain, then I am going to root for him and I hope like hell he amounts to a player in this league. Let's leave it at that ok? You're a credible poster on here that I respect. I'm poking fun at the nails and dancing, but I promise you it has zero impact or effect on me personally and I truly do not care at the end of the day.

I'm decidedly not upset. Are you?

Clearly you are because you continue to drag this out by making it into something that it isn't. To think, I was all ready to buy a Knecht or Walter jersey. To be honest Bub Carrington was my guy. Hopefully McCain works out.

Hard to evaluate how good McCain can be on the defensive end because he will have to play the wing position at SG on our team.

again yall keep harping on this like we didn't start Melton and then Lowry next to Maxey.

We can live a stint or two a game.

AGAIN I would have taken Knecht too but both really fill the same niche of knock down shooters and dudes we can run the JJ stuff with Jo...who are targetable defenders. McCain has upside due to age and work ethic, Knecht has a few inches of height.

Doubling down on a bad idea is twice as stupid.

He’s also 20 years old! I would love to be proven wrong, but the idea he can be a key factor on a championship team in the next few years (i.e. Embiid’s prime) is silly imo. Knecht at 23 at least had somewhat of a chance at contributing sooner imo.

Maxey, also 23 years old, was contributing at 21 years old.

McCain has the most translatable shooting profile to the NBA with one of the most pure forms. I also can't emphasize his ability to rebound enough. Those two things suggest he can be a contributor before he turns 21 years old much less 23.

Lively was a crucial part of the Mavs run, Braun was apart of Denver's run

rookies aren't as green as they once were. Hell Maxey won us a game in the playoffs his rookie year.

hell the list of guys who were 23 at the time of their draft is pretty bleak btw

I googled FVV vertical and found some Raptors reddits and my god, their takes on FVV are nearly identical to scouting reports on McCain. I think earlier poster was right, this might be a Nurse move.

Yes, confirms the fact that Maxey was a Doc Rivers move

Brilliant idea to put a 2nd round that nobody cares about to begin with at 4 pm on a Thursday. Flex Seal infomercials will get better ratings.

At least Morey figured that out. It took this organization over half a decade to realize it.

Djurisic is another real good one.

I’m obviously a Klintman fan, but I doubt he’ll be there at our pick. He has insane upside as a stretch PF; really thought he’d be a first rounder. If we can leave with him in this draft, then this was easily an A grade from me.

Too much emphasis on shooting and not putting more value on size is why this team won’t win.

Can't shoot, like at all. All his shots are inside the paint. Tyler Smith fits better and he won't hurt you if you need to put him in with Joel.

Maxey is special wtf. Maxey is one of the fastest players in the league. Maxey is also a Jrue Holiday level defender coming from duke. Maxey had that it factor . This ain't it lol

Watch the 2022 Raptors series. We had better shot creators and shooters, but we were smaller. The Raptors had inferior shot creators and shooters but were taller. Yes, we won that series, but the quality of shots was very close. The Raptors didn’t need much space to shoot because of the height of their shot release, whereas we needed more space due to our shorter players.
