I'm a little surprised also. Everything KJ McDaniels can do Jerami Grant can do, and is 3 inches taller and longer. McDaniels will be an undersized SF, with shooting issues. Jerami Grant will have the same shooting issues, but will be able to play and guard Power Forwards. You can survive a "Tweener" SF/PF who can't shoot. It's harder to survive a "Tweener" SG/SF who can't shoot.
I agree mostly. However, I think KJ is a more natural scorer and that his shooting is much better than Grant's. KJ shot over 15% better from the FT line and averaged 1.2 three point shots made/game (30%). KJ's steals and blocks are much higher than Grants too as is his PER. KJ is 13 months older than Grant.
I love the defensive flexibility of both players and think that what Grant does better against fours may be countered by what KJ does better against ones, perhaps. I'd say Grant has a higher ceiling due to length and age.
I like KJ a little more than Grant.
