Don't forget about Melo Trimble.
I said it in another thread, Jamal Murray is going to take UK deep in the tourney.

I'm amazed by the definitive statements made before the draft. Those types of statements made before these guys even step on a college floor are just... Odd.

I think this draft class will be stronger than anticipated. I don't think it's a weak draft at all. There's already two elite prospects, IMO, in Simmons and Skal. Brown and Ingram have the chance to join that group.

Re: 2016 NBA Draft/College Basketball Thread
My early hopes for the 2016 draft is we get Jaylen Brown or Brandon Ingram.
Then, with 1 of our other 3 picks. Get Kris Dunn or Isaiah Briscoe.

Re: 2016 NBA Draft/College Basketball Thread
Not to be a downer but we do not necessarily have 4 picks in this upcoming draft.
There is a very good chance the Miami pick does not convey. Frankly I'd rather it not anyway unless it was to be 11-15.
Then theres the OKC pick which will likely be in the 20's.
I basically see us as having our pick and the Lakers pick, since the OKC pick is not much of an asset. I still love the position we are in for next year though.

The Heat pick is protected 1-10 in 2016.
Dragić
Wade
Deng | Winslow
Bosh | McRoberts
Whiteside
I don't think there's a chance Wade leaves the Heat. Dragić is possible to leave, but I think the Heat will give him the money he wants after trading Birdman and Chalmers. That lineup should be a top 5 team in the East next year.

What do you mean we don't necessarily have four picks in the upcoming draft?
Because the OKC pick will be 24, that means it doesn't count as a pick? It'd have to be a disaster year in Miami for the Heat pick to not convey.
There's at least 90% chance we'll have all four picks next year.

Im not so sure I want the Heat pick next year.... If Wade breaks down, or leaves and we miss out= unprotected pick in 2017.

Thats kind of what I was trying to say with my factually inaccurate post from earlier.

I don't disagree. And really, I'm fine with spacing these picks out. Three is enough for one draft, especially when the Laker should be a lottery pick.

THIS!
He has Chris Paul potential. I know D'Angelo Russell compared himself to Curry, but handles wise..Briscoe is doing some Steph Curry type dishing out in and out crossover fighting game esque combos to create a shot, pass, or drive opportunity. Curry honestly didn't even develop those kind of handles until recently. This kid already has em at 19.
6'3 with a 6'9 wingspan.
If guys like Exum and Smart go top 10, I'd imagine he'd jump up to top 3 by this time next year.
I also say this as a firm believer that PG is the most replaceable position.

Re: 2016 NBA Draft/College Basketball Thread
Coming from the Knicks forums, I happen to be one of the ones who actually believes in what Hinkie is doing, I think he has done a great job thus far and is on the cusp of building something really good. The point guard class is not particularly strong next year, granted there can be players off the radar the rise but right now it doesnt look like a good crop. Of the current college crop Kris Dunn looks to be the top choice, of the incoming freshman, Derryk Thornton who is committed to Duke and Jamal Murray who recently committed to Kentucky are two others to keep an eye on.

For me the most important positions in the NBA are the center position and swingman position. We already solved the problem with our center position. Next year, we go get our swingman. Then next year, watchout NBA.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Re: 2016 NBA Draft/College Basketball Thread
I really like Ingram, he's my early target. Guy with great measurements who can score in a variety of ways.
This time last year, I wanted Kelly Oubre.
