Simmons is also a year older than Ingram which at that age is a pretty big deal. I'd honestly be happy if we get either. Not falling in love with either dude, because I already know how that ends.

Ingram is the better fit, but Simmons is the better prospect, and you don't draft for fit that high in the draft.

I take Simmons all day, but I would still be thrilled with Ingram.

The disappointment really starts at 3.

I'm already setting myself up to the hyping up of Jaylen Brown right now. "he's only 19 yall" "Jaylen is a pretty cool name doe".

(I do like Kris Dunn a lot tho)

Simmons. I don't give a F about fit because, unless you have a budding superstar, he is the kinda guy that makes every other player on your team an afterthought. I would still be ecstatic about Ingram, who's game I prefer aesthetically and pretty meh with Brown but there is upside there.

Jesus if Embiid is healthy and you can flip Ok4 for some perimeter help you'd be set. If not Ok4 and Nerlens are showing signs of meshing.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

KD also averaged +9.4 PPG , +5 RPG and almost + 20% from FT line.

Ingrams also shooting .385 from 3PT. Not 45 (not sure when they stats were taken into account)
His TS% is more in the 57% range for the season.

Ingrams a very good prospect, wouldn't be mad at all if we got him. But I don't think he's anywhere near the elite scorer right now that KD was/is.

IMO he's a once in a generation talent that you simply can't pass up whether he fits into your current roster or not. You build your team around him not the other way around.

I'm not saying that Ingram can't be a great player in his own right and I'd be happy if we ended up with the second pick and took him but he isn't on the same level as Simmons.

lol, yea....it's called good PR/marketing.

Lol nailed it. ESPN has NBA fans watching a terrible LSU team. And now they are going to poor in to watch the lottery selection and the draft. Just think if they treated him like Rabb from Cal. Lol most people wouldnt watch a LSU game and most people would just say "why am I going to watch the lottery or draft for such a weak draft." Gotta remember who is the leader in the hype train, its ESPN

Come on. We aren't stupid. Ben Simmons is a transcendent talent.

It isn't marketing. They market stars every year.

Oh, I like Brown and Dunn too, but they aren't the types of guys that teams tank for.

They are the types of top 10 picks that have a chance to be really good, and maybe make an all star team or two someday. They don't have franchise potential though.

From Ingram's last 9 games. Here's the article.

Interesting what they say about Grant's shot blocking. Ingram/Grant as 3/4 on defense. SICK!
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

Like i stated, I like Ingram. Just not a fan of a chart being made that is skewed over a 9 game "hot streak" to compare him to arguably the leagues best scorer's entire freshman year.

Its not just market, Ben Simmons is a legit prosect. Of course ESPN is going to market him, hes been getting hype since junior year in HS and its justified because he is elite prospect

You're crazy if you think keeping NoMovesorHands Noel instead of Okafor is a great idea. Noel stinks and will stink even more at a cost of $16 million a yr.

The guy doesn't even bring his A-game on defense every night and forget about offense...

Since you're only looking at the stats and not actual ability:

Also been quite good offensively over that stretch. If you can't see his impact, I'm sorry but I can't help you.

Im not saying hes not a legit prospect. I think he is the #1 prospect. But ESPN has turned him into an all time great prospect. He was not considered that going into the year.

I highly doubt it. He rarely guards out in the perimeter for LSU. The majority of the time he is zoned down next to the hoop. Hes not going to be a good defensive player early on and i dont see the potential to be a huge plus on defense. But if hes going to become a good defender, it is going to be guarding 4s.

Now not saying he will get burned on switches all the time. But you dont want him out guarding the perimeter for the majority of the game

Definately take Simmons. Whoever doesn't fit in with Simmons trade those players.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
