It will probably be like the draft normally is, where certain trades can be just be made, but others because of certain CBA reasons can be agreed to in principle but not executed until the new league year starts (normally the same time as free agency).

And you and I both know that whatever the rules are, people are going to find a way to talk

Sixerscan thanks for the info. I was just wondering about tampering rules in a crazy season. It's an aggressive schedule indeed and IMO when schedules are shortened and time is of the essence it often generates surprise deals and other opportunities for those who are prepared. 30 GMs and their teams all say they want to win and many will see if they can get in on the fast action. Our team included. Are our FO people really clueless? Putting past aside for a moment the real test begins now that the season is officially over.

I doubt the league will enforce the tampering rules any more strongly than they have in the past, which is to say they won't enforce them unless someone acts like Magic Johnson and does it in such an obvious and public way that they leave the league with no choice.

Our front office surely engages in such covert tampering too, unless you think Al Horford such coincidentally decided to sign here within an hour of free agency opening (the Celtics claimed otherwise as I recall).

I demand Silver investigate and void the Horford contract!

Marcus Camby’s best year in blocks per game was when he was 33 years old. Averaging 13rpg and 3.6bpg. Such a defensive beast

I think Giannis will leave Milwaukee. If not now then later.

Its so hard to build a team on a small market city. Its as if you need everything to fall into place or get really lucky multiple times.

I agree inasmuch as I think Giannis will sign his super max, and then demand a trade two years from now.

Maybe. But they really need to move Middleton for a guy that can break down defenses. I have no clue how they are going to do that.

I was going to say they should hire D'Antoni to recreate the 2000s Suns, but instead grabbed this burnout.

Wow, the Sixers actually did the best on the coaching carousel. Color me shocked.

Its rare for an MVP to stay in a non glimmering city (not the perfect term but u get my point). Market does not really play a factor in the internet age. Specially Milwaukee.

Yes, about 24 teams each year should just rename themselves the Washington Generals.

The Sixers are below the Generals line as of now.

I think we’re in the middle between prime destinations like Mia, NY, LA, GSW and maybe Dallas or Houston and the bottoms like charlotte, milwaukee and clevelands.

Sixers and Doc were just at the right time and at the right place. If I’m a coach, I’d also like to coach the team. The team has a lot of talent, east is wide open and there’s no pressure after how we underperformed last season. No wonder MDA, Lue and SVG were considering us.

As a FA destination, you are probably right. I was just referring to the fact that in any given year there are really only 5 or 6 teams that actually can win a title. And right now the Sixers are not in that top group.

I think they can be but it involves some moves this offseason and at least one of Ben and Joel making a leap. I wouldn’t put them in the same bucket as like the Knicks that just have no chance even if they have an A+ offseason. I’m guessing at least some of those 5-6 teams you’re thinking of weren’t the same 5-6 teams you would have said last summer.

There’s no guarantee.

All I can say is if your team is talented and you play your best, you have a chance. That’s the mindset of the Celtics, Spurs or Heat every season and we should balance playing our best and talent while being comfortable that luck plays a big factor.
