Ben isn't the heart of anything lol. Bens lack of heart is why he isn't reaching his potential.

Which is why the Sixers crumble in his absence.

But Embiid's heart and pashun are the catalysts why he can't stop eating popeyes on a rapidly degenerating body and walks back on defense during live ball turnovers.

I already know you're a known irrational Simmons lover so I'm not going to bring logic and facts on to a debate with you.

I mean simply and indisputably, without Embiid we see Simmons' level of play rise to shoulder the burden. Without Simmons, Embiid fragments and the team falls apart. But you can use boxscores to determine who carries who, and who hinders who.

I'd be very upset if we traded Simmons for Harden. I am holding out hope that we can aquire him without giving up Ben. Ben has become my favorite player and I still believe in him

You absolutely make the trade.

Also should be able to finesse Covington as part of this.

The Raptors barely won with Kawhi, Lowry, FVV, Siakam, Gasol, Green, Ibaka, Powell (+ OG) and they didn't have to go through a Lebron and AD lead team like we most likely will

Harden is the better player and I don't think we'll get him straight up. They'll want Ben and a couple of picks at least. A 21 this year and probably lower in the round next year. Not a large price to pay to go for the gold. I'm stuck on Thybulle not being part of the deal and I'd offer Shake or Furkan but at the end of the day I'll do it to bring Harden to town.

Will Harden come here and play winning basketball or just stat padding basketball? Gigantic difference in between the 2.

Harden is essentially the Lamar Jackson of the nba. Everything looks great and the stats pile up, but when it comes to playing big boy ball in the playoffs things fade quickly.

Now obviously Ben is FAR from proving himself in the playoffs, but at least we know he’ll play D and not chuck shots that hurt the team and give the guys around him a shot.

He will not take shots at all, which'll hurt the team even more.

It's simple. Harden is top7 player, arguably top5. We can safely say Simmons will never be that (he'll need jumpshot, which isn't happening). So to maximize Embiid's prime we should do that.

You don't trade a 24 y.o. star for a 31 year old star.

This is an easy NO for me.

The idea to get Harden is to play with a great young player like Simmons. Im not sure Harden would even want to come here if it meant Ben Simmons was getting traded.

I'd do the trade so long as we get one of Tucker/Covington back and don't give up Thybulle. Who stops Embiid and Harden together? I'd love to see Embiid play with someone who can get him easy looks under the basket. Would be rough viewing sometimes with all the fouls they'd draw but we'd have a seriously legit shot at a championship.

Without thinking twice, and it'd not take only Simmons fyi, I mean the move that makes more sense is Simmons, Horford, Zhaire plus 2 firsts for Harden and Gordon

First round sweep without Ben remember?

I would love to leave this dumpster fire if I were Ben, all you trying to throw him out of the city for Harden, for a quick unreliable championship window with an injury prone big man and a 31 yo ball hog.
Look at the rest of the competition, Lakers, clippers, now the nets and suns.
76ers ain’t gonna get close to winning a title even if we get Harden, all you get is, already demonstrated by Brand last season, wanting too much, too quick and wasting all young and good assets for a mirage, and end up getting no where for the next 10 years.

I agree with you on Simmons elevating his game without Embiid, but I vehemently disagree with you on Embiid not doing the same in the absence of Simmons. Did you watch the playoffs? Be honest...Did you actually watch the entire games of our series. I did...Embiid dominated that series, our struggles were with our perimeter players and lacking a halfcourt creator to take the heat off of Embiid. Richardson did his best, but he was a role player that was thrusted into the role of Penny Hardaway. I will say that Embiid did cost us the game three which in turn meant the series, but again, that can't all be put on him and to suggest that he didn't try his best to carry us against a fierce Celtics defense is ridiculous. Christ, he had 3-4 guys swarming him all the time and still put up 30+ a game. He was the best player on the floor and head and shoulders above Tatum and Brown. Boston just had the healthier team and the game plan was simple. Expose Embiid with double/triple teams. We all know Embiid struggles passing out of those situations. He's not perfect, but I expect over time that he'll fix those issues. Oh...to suggest that he's falling apart at 27 is a little premature. The guy is a professional athlete and he's going to be able to play at a MVP level for at least five more years.

What’s the problem with being a fan, and showing loyalty to your fav player from the team? Why are fans being called irrational for supporting their guy?
I admit I am bias towards the guys we picked from the draft/ start, Joel, Ben, thybulle. That’s why I was upset when we traded Shamet and Covington, and even Fultz. Yea it maybe an upgrade for a short period of time in some cases, but I am loyal to my guys and I believe in player development.
Nowadays, everyone in the forum acts like they are playing the rational GM/ owner role in a 2k video game. What happened to all the bitching/ complaining and whining about Harden being lame, traveling every-time he takes a shot and plying no D? Now he’s a god cause we can possibly get him to play for us? You ppl make me sick.

Yes, but i would try really hard to also swap Horford for Covington, maybe add a pick to sweeten the deal.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
