As I keep saying. Aggressiveness but keep the turnovers way down. It's pretty simple but we are trying to beat ourselves which is frustrating. This heat team isn't that great. We're handing it to them. If they won the series, they're gonna get swept or 4-1 whoever they play next. Boston or bucks will smash them like we should be or should have

Expecting some actual fight due to the sense of urgency. Our guys constantly show complacency when things are going well, so I'd assume our Doctor Jekyll will make a showing at home down 2-3.
I really have no expectations with a team with such wild swings in competitiveness so just hoping for the best.
Will we get Mopel or Embeast in Game 6? Obviously I think he should have won MVP for the season, but Game 5 was a terrible look for anyone making that argument.

this team has been weird as **** all year. They have won games that historically they don't win. ANd lost ones they should have easily taken or at the very least made closer than expected.
who knows...I do know that if Silver truly rigged things...he'd do it for us lol. We are for better and mostly worse a draw as people want to see our downfall..keeping that gravy train going for at least one more series would be nice, no?
I am copping pleas already yo

The Heat may not be "great" and may in fact lose in the next round if they make it there, but they appear to me to be a better team than the Sixers at present. The fact that they have two (Butler and Herro) and sometimes three (Oladipo) players who can create their own shot, while having very good 3P shooters on the floor, places them decidedly above the Sixers in my opinion. The Sixers arguably needed a highly uncharacteristic game from James Harden in game 4 just to keep from losing the series 1-4, potentially. The Heat are far more likely to get those kinds of contributions from their players.

If it's a tight game by the 4th quarter, I don't touch it and leave it until it's a timeout or a commercial break.
This is what I do since I now live in Europe. Having a kid makes staying up until 4:45 not worth it. 10 years ago there's no way I wouldn't have stayed up to watch it live.
I now really enjoy my routine of waking up and getting a coffee and watching the game on league pass. I do the same thing as you and skip free throws and any downtime. I can usually finish the game in 45 minutes and I see basically everything. Makes me realize the NBA needs to have a two point free throw. Two free throws takes way too long.
I'm embarrassed to admit I fast forwarded game 5 starting at some point in the second quarter. I knew they didn't have it and I didn't have the heart to watch it. I just watched the Heat lead get bigger and bigger.

Fellas, I think our season ends by 10 pm. Tonight...We dine...In Hell. I think Miami took our heart in game five.

I did that from mid 3rd quarter on. It was pretty clear early on what kind of game it was going to be.

They stink. Jimmy or bust. They just seem to gel good together. Player for player they suck on paper. Paper champs only get you so far unfortunately. Turnovers is what's killing the 6ers

Not only that, but when the team leader talks after that kind of blowout at length about the perceived injustices associated with the league MVP award he believes he should have won, it doesn't exactly rally the troops. Embiid should've given no response to any questions about the MVP, saying for example, "I'll be happy to address that after the season -- right now we are focused as a team on winning a championship and I'm not even letting an individual accomplishment enter my mind." I mean there is leadership and there is non-leadership.
Unless Embiid himself starts the game tonight very strong and gives the appearance of being highly driven, I would expect more team flatness of the kind seen in game 5. Certainly if he shows up with another Embiid "exhaustion crash" game, they're toast.

Let's be honest, we've babied Embiid as a fanbase. His answers at the post game press conference were very disappointing. I am hoping they come out on fire tonight but I don't expect it.

Yeah you make valid points with all that. I certainly don't want us to lose tonight, but it's not feeling good. Game fives are weird. Phoenix blew the doors off of Dallas after Dallas tied it up. Memphis smashed the Warriors without Ja. The only real down to the wire game was Milwaukee and Boston which has been a thrilling series so far.
Now, here's the thing I see with Embiid in reply to what you said. I think, he's still very much maturing as a man and as a professional basketball player. He's 28...Hakeem Olajuwon didn't win a ring until he was 31. Embiid is still growing as a person, as a professional, and as a basketball player. He doesn't strike me as someone arrogant. I think Embiid is a very humble person at heart. He no doubt took a long look in the mirror after game five. He had a day to think about things and get his mind right. IF...IF Embiid comes out tonight focused with bad intentions on his mind. He's going to have a great game and we're going to win. Like I said earlier. It looks to me like Miami took our heart in game five. Embiid at some point probably realized what a baby he sounded like and he'll no doubt look to change that as quickly as possible. He is playing hurt, i'll give him that, but it can't be an excuse. Win or lose he has to finish this game tonight on his feet and fighting. That is what MVPs do, that is what franchise players do, that is what the greats do. As Embiid goes, so goes this team. Harden didn't come here to be the man. He's never been that type of player. Embiid wants to be that player, and I think he will become that guy, but dude...Give him time. He's still maturing.

Literally a legacy game for everyone not named Maxey tonight.
The Miami Heat would get smoked in the ECF against either the Bucks or the Celtics, we have to have some pride and handle business tonight.
Glass half full says we already beat them 2 straight these playoffs (at home.....) with Embiid. Not impossible to pull two more out.

Yea, while I don't think we'll win this series, we kinda have to win this game at home. It would look pretty bad for Embiid to **** down his leg for the two games after not winning the MVP.

I don't think it's fair that we continue to blame his performance on not winning the MVP. it might be contributing to it, but the dude has a broken face, torn finger, and just came off a concussion. He was smacked in the face on the same spot with a ball, and was rolling around the floor in tears (genuine pain, not flopping, or trying to sell the call). Dude is basically coming out of an ambulance stretcher. We also can't say, hey listen, if you can't bring it, then don't play at all.
He's an emotional guy, and once again he's getting flack for talking about the MVP, well he was asked. What should he have done, just said next question? It's TNT, and ESPN that brought up the idea that Jo was upset about the MVP and it was affecting his game. Again, I think it might have contributed a little, but I think we need to be better than the average NBA fan, and not assume it was the biggest reason for why we lost the last game. He is playing like an absolute warrior, and his dedication and fight in the game really shouldn't be questioned.
I know, he looked like he was moping, and but he was probably also upset as hell that once again, it's his injuries that are preventing him from playing to his potential. It's very hard for a guy to be able to have to deal with this on an annual basis, since the day he was drafted. It'll have a psychological effect on you. The **** this dude has been through, and to come through it all, and be an MVP candidate for 2 years in a row. He has been through far more mental struggles, then that whiny bitch Ben Simmons.
We think of our NBA superstars as gladiators or superheros who are immune to basic human emotion, and are invulnerable to pain, but what makes Joel "Jo" is that he is like many of us. A passionate human being who wears his heart on his sleeve, but wants to win more than anything, and will play no matter what (unlike many of us, and someone else we know).
Just think it's a little too easy to immediately jump to the MVP narrative, we have to give him a little more credit than that.
Let's also not forget that Miami was the #1 seed, and the having Jimmy, "James" Butler. No way he would have allowed them to lose that game.

I also agree with eyeatoma
I just don't understand how you can see a guy with a fracture get hit in the face, stay on the floor 3 or 4 minutes crying in pain and then act like he's a wooping loser.
The only thing you're doing is proving Joel right when he says there is no action he can take without looking bad

If any HC can get a team backed into a corner ready to fight it’s Doc
Just kidding
He sucks. I think tonight is the season end. And 30 seconds after it ends the “should we let Harden go” talk will commence.
Will be an interesting off-season.
I’d like to thank Morey for forgetting a bench can be important.

Definitely losing coming off such a demoralizing beat down.
Joel's got his annual playoff bitch flu, Butler won't let his team lose, and Spo will continue to coach circles around Doc.

I don't think it's fair that we continue to blame his performance on not winning the MVP.
It would be far easier to do that if he didn't talk about the injustices he perceives regarding the MVP voting right after a blowout loss.
I mean when something is ambiguous -- i.e., we don't know whether to attribute to his performance to moping about the MVP or to other factors -- it becomes easier to attribute it to the MVP when he himself talks about it, after a blowout loss.
If you want people to attribute your performance to things other than that, then don't talk about it. He has a lot of control over how he's perceived.
