Kyrie is nothing without his two step-fathers LeBron & KD. And Embiid deserves more credit for dragging these teams to the second round with Ben Simmons being the 2nd best player on the majority of those teams.

Warriors Prioritizing Addition Of Wing Over Extra Big Man

Warriors have Wiggins, Draymond and Kuminga...
Sixers have Mattise Thybulle...

I feel uneasy about our wing depth going into the playoffs where I believe the celtics will be the team to beat.

I think Tucker and Tobi will be fine.

Tucker -2 DFG%
Tobi 0.0 DFG%

Comparison:
Mikal Bridges +.4 DFG%
Paul George -.5DFG%
Jaden McDaniels -.8DFG%

They wont lock them up. In a larger sample size, they can defend the top scoring wings, single coverage where they wont be that easy to light them up.

It’s really up to our offense to outscore them. Better offense is one kind of defense nowadays

And at this point of the season, its easier to be a better team taking this team at another level on offense than defense. Where in defense, you’d have to sacrifice some offense where it will take a lot of defense to make up for it.

I think right now we’re balanced. Yes, this is how balance looks like nowadays

Defense: someone who is a good man to man defender and also carry his teammates load on defense

The rest are dime in a dozen players.

I think to be a true offensive predator, you also have to be able to put pressure on opposing defense by attacking and drawing fouls, in addition to being able to run an offense and get teammates open looks.

Guys who run an offense well and get their teammates great looks like Tyrese Haliburton should never be misclassified as a predator.

Kyrie is easily the most overrated player of the past 20 years. And it’s all because the aesthetics of his game are so cool & fun.

I should have added being able to score at will aside from being able to generate open looks all game

I dont think this is the case if you replace maybe Matisse and Trez with 2 way players at their positions. It would make the team more balanced and flexible.

In my estimation, Kyrie bought himself a ton of equity for winning that championship in 2016 for his drafting team. He was on his way to building a fantastic legacy for himself.

But he has a bad brain. And every decision he's made since then (beginning with abandoning his franchise to LeBron), ended his ability to build a strong legacy.

Even though no championship, I'd easily take Dame Lillard over Kyrie Irving. They're virtually the same player on the court, but Lillard is the living embodiment of a franchise player and possesses far better intangibles.

I think in the end, Kyrie will be considered the "better player" because of that ring. Lillard will be punished for staying in Portland hoping his FO does him right.

That’s a shame because Lillard is clearly the better player imo. The level of popularity for Kyrie is just too overwhelming.

Kyrie & D-Rose are the best examples of 1 accolade & a ton of popularity carry a legacy despite mixed career results. I’m still shocked every time I see an online poll & Rose dominates.

The other day House of Highlights did some polls for the Paris game & they had Rose vs Isiah Thomas. Rose won that poll like 80/20 which is crazy lol.

I kind of get the Rose thing.

With his combination of playmaking, attacking, and bringing his team to 60 wins in year 3, his career was virtually parallel to what Morant's is right now. It's a shame the injury stopped him before he could really cement himself as a legend.

I hadn’t considered the early career comp between Ja & Rose. That’s a good point. But, I do think you can easily make the case that Rose won that MVP because people got sick of Lebron and we’re mad that he went to Miami.

Even without championship, Dame was the better player. Its just this game values shot creation a lot thats why the impression is Kyrie is the better player.

And in terms of shot creation off the dribble, Kyrie is as good as it gets.

Franz Wagner has been the best player of the 2021 draft by a mile, for now.

Evan Mobley is overrated. Being compared to guys like KG is ridiculous.

Trade Market has a surplus of bigs that the teams who have them are trying to pump and dump like Spencer Hawes final year as a Sixer lol

Jazz with Vando and Olynyk
Hornets with Plumlee
Spurs with Poetl and Collins
Magic with Bamba
Pistons with Noel
Suns with Ayton
Raps with Boucher
Kings with Holmes
Hawks with Capela and Collins (Okongwu is ready)

FA market also has Whiteside, LMA and DMC. I just dont know how much they can contribute now

I dont know if im missing some more

Worst contracts in the league.
- Ben Simmons
- DeAndre Ayton

Keegan Murray is now shooting 41.5% on 5.9 3PA/G. He’s on pace to become the first rookie in NBA history to shoot 40+ percent on 5.5+ 3PA/G for a season.
