Need to figure out a way to handle their ball pressure. Their lack of defensive pressure early in this game allowed us to blow it open. We stall when they apply the pressure. You know they’re going to go all out this game.

I said it in the last game thread. The Sixers winning game 4 put them over the mental hump against Boston. Now that they're past that and they believe they can win the Celtics are in trouble.

They have the Celtics figured out on defense and the Celtics only hope is that Al Horford can knock down about 7 or 8 threes because his man is the one helping. Doesn't seem likely.

Offensively, the Sixers can get whatever they want, whenever they want. Again in another thread, I said if they plan to leave Maxey open to go all out to stop Harden and Embiid, Boston won't win another game.

Mazzulla has nothing left to try to stop the Sixers. Even if he did, I'm not sure he's a good enough coach to realize it.

This is a must win tho....cannot let it get back to Boston...the refs and the league want that potential Celtics V Lakers matchup badly

You are super negative. This team has a different vibe this year.

You need to believe in them.

they need to prove me wrong continually lol.

last year I think I had a legit ass mental breakdown when it looked like we were going to blow a 3-0 lead to the Raps lol

Can't have that happen again lol.

So I will just hate and have them make me look bad.

Will try to not overdo it and ruin the mood tho...

Totally different vibe this year. The Harden 3 on Saturday finally turned on the lights for this group, and games 4 (minus the silly implosion) and 5 showed that the Sixers have exposed this Celtics team, and both teams know it. This series ends tomorrow.

Exactly right. The Sixers have totally exposed this fraud team with the overrated 'superstar' that almost 100% relies on spamming 3's and getting transition buckets. As long as we get the efficient Harden again or they don't lose their minds from 3, this thing is over.

I've been an Embiid / Sixers vibe doomer all year, but this team does feel a little different in this series. Maybe PJ really is that important for this type of thing.

The most critical thing that happened in the entire season was Tucker's in-your-face gesture with Embiid in game 4. There has never been a player on the team during Embiid's tenure who had the will or the credibility to pull that off. Tucker's addition has been monumental. The entire team was galvanized by that gesture.

Yes the Celtics came back against the Bucks a year ago but that Celtics team was better overall (much better coaching) and their game 5 loss they blew it late. Last night the 76ers controlled much of the game. This series is far from over but I find it hard to believe after the effort the Celtics gave last night at home that they will win this series. Obviously still possible though.

A home game 5 in a 2-2 series is a natural expectation for complacency. The home team knows it has two games remaining at home and simply has to win both of them. There won't be any of that complacency Thursday.

I think it's totally fair to voice concern and want them to prove your pessimism wrong given the history of this team. It does feel a bit different, but important not to look past this game 6. Play the same way they did in game 5 and get the MVP to the ECF.

Doc mad a huge adjustment on offense last game. Rather than Embiid working from the top of the key we started clearing a side and getting him the ball of the left wing/block. He looked way more comfortable operating from that area. The side PnR was more effective too because it makes helping on the roll a much longer rotation for their defense.

His defensive scheme has been A+ too. He deserves a ton of credit for that game.

For the entire 15 min that he played, Danuel House was glued to Malcolm Brogdon, playing solid defense as Brogdon shot 3-9. Seems like that was his assignment. I hope he gets minutes again tomorrow as Brogdon was a sniper during the first 4 games.

And that's exactly how they have to look at it. The last thing you want is a game 7 in Boston, so tomorrow is the day.

He also played some stretch 5 so it frees up driving lane for Maxey.

Celts shifted into another gear in G6&7. But Bucks were showing signs of collapse back then.

Celt’s G6&7 in 2022 vs Bucks is more like Sixers G4&G5 this series.

Sixers always had that extra gear that is hard to match. It shows in crunch time. We played that gear for full 48 in G5.

Celts can win G6. Im not denying that. But at this point, I’d say its really hard for them to win 2 straight IMO.

I agree Glenn's game 5 line-ups were pretty solid and wouldn't mind a repeat of that for game 6. If Tobias can stay out of foul trouble, even better, but his defense last night was great. I'd like more of that + House + Melton suffocating Boston's perimeter.

House was a definite "discovery" last night. That guy is valuable.
