The Sixers continue to be a s***show. The league finding and announcing publicly that Embiid does in fact have an injured knee and the Sixers were lying about it is so bad on many different levels.

It has to be Jo telling the team to not announce his injuries. Has to be. Morey isn't purposely looking to get fined and then explaining to Josh why he keeps wasting his money.

His knee is basically ****
Even better we signed him to a long term extension

This post brings me memories of Andrew Bynum era

No wonder Andre Drummond signed a minimum contract with quickness

The Sixers, where shooters go to die.

Seriously, how the **** is it possible for us to have not been able to have used this?

I'm convinced this was just a lack of creativity form Nurse.

People like Stanford called me crazy, but I'm telling this has so many similarities to that.

Yeah I'm thinking at this piont it is, given that this has spanned across multiple regimes. He probably doens't want the bad press, because he did the Olympics, but it's even worse for him not to be playing, and for us not to know what is going on.

What was the team supposed to say? That Embiid has no injury and we’re just managing his load to keep him fresh for the playoffs? Of course, they’re going to make it sound more serious so there’s a solid reason to sit him. They already made a mistake and they won’t double down.

This has been happening since Bynum.

The problem is, this is plausible and so is every other explanation. Impossible to know at this point.

However, there are varying levels of plausibility. The most likely scenario, in my opinion, is that the team is simply keeping a low profile after making the mistake of openly telling the media that they would hurt their own TV viewership by pushing load management to the limit. Specially for one of the most anticipated teams this season, and could set a trend that undermines the integrity of the regular season.

I will never give this Franchise the benefit of the doubt. They have not earned that lol

HOWEVA

I also don't see why people are jumping off cliffs rn.

This isn't really news imo. His knee is in a brace ffs, has been all offseason...so yeah i imagine he isn't 100% which would qualify as not being healthy enough to play atm...which meets the qualifications to not get fined for sitting out.

The FO **** up by making it seem like he was "just" ramping up...

Thats my view of it at least

I also wouldn't be surprised if actually its the other knee AND it got hurt in a bicycle accident with Fultz or some dumb **** lol

Because his knee is still broken 36 weeks removed from a surgery that is supposed to be an 8 week recovery.

Not good.

Well the NBA's press release strongly implied it. It said "Embiid's been unable to play this season due to a left knee condition."

And Sam Amick of The Athletic is reporting that the Sixers consider Embiid's knee "unstable" and they feel playing him right now would jeopardize his health.

At least Embiid went out on top... a gold medalist in the Olympics playing on an already screwed up knee.

Pistons fans have pretty much marked this game down as a win for them.

I actually came here to warn us against thinking this is the old Pistons. Watched some of the last two games, they're not amazing but they actually have a coherent team now: Cade runs high pn'r all day and there are a bunch of shooters plus Duren as a rim-running type, and Ivey is intersting as a secondary creator (he's still learning on the job but can gt hot). They play hard and they're definitely worlds better than the last couple years, I'm expecting that at best it'll be a tough game.
