Come on, we are not 2-11 because Embiid is late in team activities. We are 2-11 because this is a bad coached team, they are a disaster in the court, and Embiid is not the MVP player that he was in the last seasons.

he was hired to be this hard nose no nonsense tactician

and yet apparently he has just be Doc Rivers who plays the guitar

It’s still the NBA lol

The only person who can really keep guys in line is Pat Riley. Need your “stars” to actually be adults, tough concept

If you have only watched the Sixers since 2000 like I have....it sadly is a tough concept to grasp lol

is that allowed?

Personnel selection is very important. And not just with regard to physical talent.

Tell that to Maxey -- he seems to think otherwise and called Embiid out because of it, probably because Embiid's being repeatedly late is just one symptom of a bigger-picture problem for Embiid. Do you figure you know how the team functions better than Maxey does?

Sadly, I’m not surprised at all. This is exactly who I thought he was. He has a maturity level of a 15-year-old kid. It’s just time to move on from this child.

They can talk a lot of things in the meeting, but everybody knows that the most selling news is Joel Embiid. If you read the article players are not happy about how Nurse is coaching them, but sells more newspapers talk about Embiid.

And it's time for him to start playing like an MVP. The team is 2-11, start playing like yourself again. They need you. Step up, Joel.

ehh yes and no.

Biid not being engaged or even present does seem like it would take a toll....especially on a team basically all new outside of Maxey and Lowry.

Its why "da plan" was always stupid for this year imo. You can't have one guy basically get to take nights off while you are out there busting your ass and then said guy comes back and doesn't exactly help. If Biid came back and was even just good not even MVP Biid, being absent or half there wouldn't matter as much. Add on the fact that George also seems to be checked out a bit...thats your top paid guys going half speed.

I love Biid. Again I would legit retire from my fandom if he ever won a chip here on some "my job is done' type beat. BUT if this is true, then he has to own it for once and stop blaming others even if others are equally at fault. Can't be showing up late, going half speed, taking nights off and then go not my fault fellas.

Again I think this slow start is general ramp up period Biid stuff more than anything but after the slow start and the fact that we have a whole new team...this was the year he needed to come correct...and he did not and thats on him and he has to hold that on his chest. I don't mind him playing in the Olympics because that will statistically be the only time he can experience winning lol BUT the whole point was to learn from watching the other dudes approach the game and how he had to adjust....I like to think the best of people and I think Jo does know what he has to do..finally lost weight, seems to be intuned with taking a lesser role on offense but I also think he has constantly taken the wrong lesson from the downs of his career and this whole "plan" is the latest in that by taking it easy to preserve his body, he is going off ball Harden levels of effort which didn't even work for Harden let alone a **** center.

i don't think he is a loser, or that he sucks, or that we should have traded him in 2014 BUT dude has to finally take some blame for the issues this team constantly has. Yes the coaching is bad imo. I think the roster is buns. I don't think Paul George is the right sidekick (Maxey being the one to call Jo out on his bull does give me some hope that maybe he is tho). BUT regardless of all of that ****...this is still on Joel Hans Embiid.

Getting difficult to say this. Being generous, he's the worst all-time great player ever.

You've been in the league for 10 years, it's time to start acting like an adult. Whenever things go awry he always gets like this. Start doing your job and start playing better.

I feel like Embiid is going to respond to this again by saying how he’s “done too much for this city to be treated this way”.

Embiid just has huge loser vibes and is a terrible leader. He hasnt grown up a bit since entering the league.

Always sayed thoughness/leadership was going to be a huge issue with the Embiid/PG duo and that Maxey is the only real dog on our team.

Sadly he's the youngest and least accomplished of the Big 3 so he can't be the leader yet, it's not how this works.

Too coddled from too early in his career.

While you have to deal with the character flaws of star players a lot of times, there have been signs since the start. Bad body language on court and always blaming other players during games for things rather than taking responsibility.

You're missing context but that's okay.

It can be that way if the coach starts calling Maxey's number in the clutch and lets Embiid stand around and watch.
