Look it up, I remember Emeka Okafor was posting some numbers or had some type of stat that was similar to Shaq's.

Edit: Here it is " Highlights of the season included recording 19 straight double-doubles from November 21 through January 1."

Source: www.wikipedia.org

That was in Emeka Okafor's Rookie year. Only Shaq had posted that many consective double-doubles. In other words, he's consistant.

I would be lying if I said that I have seen Okafor play a good amount as a pro. He's been hurt far too often. I don't know what offensive skills he may have acquired as a pro that could be better utilized under a different coach and alongside an athletic shot blocking center.

Someone posted something about Amare being like the post injury Chris Webber, a player that scores points but gives up more than he scores. The main difference would be that Amare can run the floor, finish on the break, and dribble drive. Webber just shot jumpers and a hook shot every now and again. Amare is also defending out of position at the center spot.

Amare right now is a far better player than Omeka. He's a better scorer, passer, rebounder, finisher, shooter, shot blocker, ball handler, go-to guy. Right now Amare isn't a better rebounder, Omeka is a better rebounder by not even one whole rebound. I don't know if Omeka is a better on ball defender of power forwards. I know that right now he isn't a better shot blocker than Amare.

A compliment to Dalembert would be a PF that can run, score, pass, and rebound more so than a PF that just rebounds and defends. Okafor can't score. Amare does everything but play shut down defense, BUT he gives his all on defense like Kyle Korver. I have seen Amare get dunked on a few times this season unlike Chris Webber who avoided trying to make a defensive play with any potential of being posterized AT ALL COSTS.

Emeka is the better rebounder. Has averaged at least 10 boards every season and 1 season of over 11. Amare has never averaged 10 boards in any of his seasons. And he said Amare would be like Webber was at the end of Amares career. Not that they are the same player right now. But I too would rather have Amare because he would be a better fit for this team next to Sam but we would prob have to give up Sam to get him.

Amare is much better than Okafor overall...I think he was 14/16 from the field last night, and that is more what the Sixers need is a solid scorer/rebounder from the PF spot. Overall, their team defense is not that bad where Amare needs to be a defender.

He's not coming to town, so the discussion is kind of silly. Both upgrade the position, both have some injury concerns, neither are likely to be a Sixer next season.

of all the players listed i only see stoudamire and brand as post presence players. The other players smith, thomas, and johnson are good players but they are not a down low banger that we need in the paint.

I'm not entirely sure that Okafor has low post abilities on offense. I remember him to have a Dalembert type game.

I still say that Sweetney is worth, at the very least, a ten day. The man's got to eat;)

Don't expect this to happen, but this was an interesting trade proposed on another board. Miller and Evans to Orlando for Dooling/Arroyo/Garrity and the rights to Vazquez.

The youtube clip is short and from 2 years ago, but he appears to be pretty skilled for a big man and really long wingspan. That is an option I never considered, but I doubt it would happen. As the Sixers continue to struggle, do the odds increase of moving Miller before the trade deadline??

Us moving Miller probably has more to do with how other teams do- and whether they want to give a lot for Miller. Some teams- like the Heat - are no longer in the picture.

There really is no urgency to clear Millers contract given we can still trade him this summer or next year. If there was a FA worth more than 12M next year that we were going after it might be a different story.

Right, but my point was more the inclusion of Vazquez in the discussion. If Orlando is willing to move him, you would have to consider it. He may be the best big man that is 'available'...tough to gauge him until he comes over, but he has a nice skill set and some length.

Vasquez is years away from joining the NBA, if at all. Also, there's that buyout situation in Europe even if he does play (ie I think NBA teams can only pay like 500,000 dollars whereas buyouts are usually upwards of 2 million. So the player has to pay the difference out of his own pocket).

ROFL, I still remember that. That was when he was all arrogant about Minny's extension right?

That may not be true. Recent reports are he's trying to join the Magic soon. He's not happy with his situation in Europe and he wants to leave so he can join the NBA.

I think he turned down that deal, and hasn't received a deal from anyone since...wonder if he'd go back and revisit that decision.
