You're right... the correct number isn't 2%.... it's a 2.5% chance collectively of us landing in the Top 3. I figure we'll land somewhere around where we were last season (#12) after all is said and done. Mo isn't going to shut down any of his players and is going to coach for as many wins as possible in an attempt to save his job.

The odds of landing in Top 3 with pick #12 are as follows.

Pick #1: .007%
Pick #2: .008%
Pick #3: .010%

There's your awesome 2.5% chance of landing in the Top 3. If I have a choice between that and the 8th seed AKA pick #15... I'll take Pick #15.

**** This is all subject to change if Stefanski deals Andre Miller.

not saying it will or wont happen. There is however more of a chance that mo will get the nod from upstairs to shut 'er down since our gm is no longer trying to save his job and can do what is best for the franchise.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Aside from trading Miller, How would we "shut er down" in a way that would make us less competitive?

More minutes for Smith, Young, Lou and even Carney may actually get us more wins, since we tend to have a better shot when we abandon the set offense and go uptempo.

Now if any our Ironmen (Sam, Dala, Miller) went down for a while then it would lead to a major slump- but I definitely don't want any of them to get hurt.

That's great that the GM is safe but doesn't Mo have to think about Mo?? The only way he gets that kind of "nod" is if he signs an extension before this season is over. Otherwise, I doubt that Stefanski would tell Mo, "Listen, I know you don't have a contract after this season and that I've given you no reason to believe you'll be back, but why don't you stop playing Dalembert and Miller and Iguodala so much and take a look at guys like Louis Amundson and Herbert Hill".

They may not be the greatest players, but it is impressive that they 2nd, 1st and 1st amongst active consecutive games streaks at their positions. That ussually suggests a combination of luck and toughness.

After reading this in Jasner's columntoday, I updated the starters to show Thaddeus now starting at PF for tonight.

As the lineup turns

Jason Smith, who made his first start in Wednesday night's victory over the Milwaukee Bucks but left late in the fourth quarter with a sprained ankle, was unable to practice yesterday.
If Smith is unable to play tonight against the Orlando Magic, Cheeks is likely to pencil in Thaddeus Young or Rodney Carney and continue to use Reggie Evans off the bench. Makes sense to me. At this point, the more minutes the younger players get, the better.

Wait... so Jason Smith is OUT for tonight and we lost an assistant coach in the Gasol trade since McKie did a sign and trade?? As ES said.... it's a great country.

Why are we such a bad free throw shooting team? I can't understand it. How can you imagine to win a game like this if you don't hit your free throws? I mean Reggie Evans turns slowly into our best free throw shooter. It's disgusting.

6 of 12. Just wow. There should be 4 more points on our scoreboard right now. :banghead:

Has anyone noticed. Whenever Lou is having a good game MO sits him instead of letting him play?

Wow, why doesn't Miller pass it to Andre? What a f*ck!!!

At least lose by not hitting that last shot but that why? F*ck it. This win would have put us right there in the playoff race. Now we're back in nowhere.
