Iverson is an inspirational figure for many people, and one of the greatest Sixers ever. Having him talk to the team is a good thing.

What he said to them was probably drivel, but that doesn't matter. It is symbolic.

They aren't going to be following his advice. They should hopefully just be inspired by his presence.

All he did was give them a pep talk involving a sport he was one of the best in. I doubt he tackled quintessential life advice to them.

The Sixers will travel from Atlanta to Houston to play the Rockets on Monday. Embiid expects to play, but Brown isn’t giving him the green light just yet.

“I think I’m playing in Houston, so I think I’ll make that trip,” Embiid said.

Said Brown, “I’m not sure right now. I’ll be advised by the sports science people.”

..I guess this load management thing is really in effect ..

I'm half way through it.

I need to chill the **** out. I started posting and realized I had put a political slant on it. At least I noticed.

Worst. Election. Ever.

LOL. I'd just keep driving and assume that they are doing it for a reason.

Back to Embiid and the trainers. If they sat down and showed us the data, and their thinking I'm sure that we would all agree that it makes sense. The flip side is that they are doing it out of incompetence(we aren't qualified to diagnose that) or malice(ridiculous on its face).

But they gave us the plan up until Christmas at least though right? 24 mins no back 2 backs. Well now they just add missed games that don't fall on b2bs? For example durant has a Jones fracture. Comes back early hurts it again misses some more time but now that he's healthy again you didn't see the thunder or even the Warriors now babying the dude and he's a top 3 player in the world. Embiid's foot is either going to hold up or it isn't. The bone is as healed as it is going to be.

I think you should contact Embiid's doctors and share your opinions with them. Make sure to tell them your credentials so they take you seriously. Oh and record the conversation and post it here so we can get some full clarification on the matter.

I agree, but I would be interested on an explanation regarding the rationale behind the rest. If the bone is 100% healed, then the bone is in the best condition it will ever be in. So why no back to backs?

Perhaps they will monitor for damage and look at different shoes, different running and landing techniques, strengthening different muscles if they do see any signs that are concerning.

I assume if they evaluate in December and see no damage, they will remove his minutes restriction for the new year.

Right. The idea I think is that they want to monitor his foot by ramping up the load in a controlled manner. You don't just throw him to the wolves because the scans look great.

The goal is a long injury free career, and not just a certain amount of activity in the first half of his rookie year.

It's actually comical how much this guy contributes in 22mpg. He's at 31ppg/11rpg per 36 right now.

He was a +3 and the 76ers lost by 30 tonight. That is all.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

It just goes to show how silly much of the hand ringing about this team is.

We have a superstar on the team, and his development(along with Simmons') is more important than all other things combined.

So is Embiid playing tonight vs. Washington or tomorrow at Minnesota? I hope he sits tonight so we can see him go up against Towns and Wiggins his college teammate.

Going up against Towns is the one time Okafor actually tries though. Like he could actually prove Minnesota wrong for passing on him. If only he'd put in the same effort to prove Sixers right for taking him the other 80 games.

Wiggins has stated that he wants to dunk on Embiid's head. I expect to see Embiid with 6 blocks tomorrow night

While I agree yes it is a more exciting game. This is a disgrace and utterly disrespectful to the loyal season ticket holders that are going to the HOME GAME tonight. As one myself, I would like a refund and since they only let you do a "ticket swap" one FULL BUSINESS DAY in advance of the game you can't even switch it out for another game.

Embiid HAS TO PLAY in front of his home fans...c'mon Sixers

Apparently this is in-line with 2 days rest after a game, fwiw. That's been the plan for the season supposedly.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
