Sixers got OKC15(x18), which turned into OKC16(#24), for taking on Javale McGee $12M at the deadline and $12M the following year.

Sixers got Nik Stauskas, two years of swap rights, and SAC19, for taking on Carl Landry and Jason Thompson's $13M at the deadline and $13M the following year.

Even if you include Stauskas as part of the dump (instead of compensation for the dump), the Sixers got two years of swap rights and an unprotected first round pick for saving the Kings $32M.

New Orleans is nuts if they think they're getting Okafor and $30M cap relief for a 2018 pick that will likely be in the teens.

Just because Sam Hinkie made a couple ridiculously one-sided trades doesn't mean we will receive another pile of gold for garbage. Some of you guys are expecting way too much.

I think that something like Jahlil Okafor for Alexis Ajinca + '18 pick (lottery protected)/'19 pick (top 10 protected)/'20 pick (top 3 protected) is a realistic return.

So, if we draft Fultz or Ball, you're expecting Jrue to be starting ahead of them? Or are we not going to draft a PG because we will have signed an injury prone PG?

Do you not think that 2 guards who are both above 6'4 (Fultz/Jrue, Ball/Jrue) and possess the ability to play off ball could start in the backcourt together?

That doesn't matter to me. What does, and is being missed here for some reason, is that prior to this season, Holiday had missed 107 games in his three seasons in NO. He's also been an OK defensive player. So now we're going to throw a ton of cash at him? Are there really no better options out there? I'd rather just let Embiid and Simmons figure out the offense with our upcoming rookie, OR trade for a stud wing with our picks. Jrue, to me, is one injury away from being an expensive bench player. Not too interested in that.

Yeah, he had around 3000 twitter followers yesterday (which has now grown to over 5000). Kind of suspect.

PS. He is Smitty (mod from Celtics board) around here, you can ask him more about his sources.

He's a long time poster here at RealGM and attends Celtics press releases etc. So he does know people around the NBA, but I obviously have no idea if those sources are reliable.

Any source who isn't a Woj, Stein, Aldridge is likely to be used by execs as a tactic to drive the market through the media.

The likelihood of Bryan Colangelo getting off the phone with a GM and going "You know what, let me text Keith Smith and tell him what happened!" is laughable. And, yes, I know the info didn't necessarily come from Bryan, or a GM for that matter. Don't @ me with stickler responses.

If New Orleans thinks Okafor is a good fit, and he may be, a draft pick that projects in the top 13 in the near future is fair. If they need to throw in salary flotsam, but not Holiday, that is ok, we can always do the release thing.

What would Holiday really add to Bayless, TJ, and Rodriguez? Maybe a little better, injury prone, high salary projection. Not desirable.

NO can see no big men in the 2017 draft, while Okafor has good NBA talent, despite noted shortcomings, and may get better. With Davis, they can match up with other teams big men as needed.

This is a fair deal, hopefully a win/win and I hope they can agree on it.

Are the Sixers able to offer Jrue a larger contract next year if they trade for him? That's the only incentive I can think of that would somewhat make sense. Still, I wouldn't be comfortable shelling out Mike Conley money for a PG with his injury history, although if he's healthy the Sixers improve dramatically.

I'd rather get a lightly protected 2018 pick from the Pels. Add Ersan to the trade and take on Ajinca. Don't want Asik's contract, but it's not as bad under the new cap. It wouldn't be a deal breaker, especially if NOP is willing to lower the pick protections. Just get the deal done. The glimmer of being the #3 pick wears off a little each day.

Holiday, when healthy, is a massive upgrade over those guys.

That said, it makes little sense to trade assets for him now when we can just sign him over the summer.

We didn't bring in Snake and Son to get us Jrue Holiday.

They need to get us Kyle Lowry or GTFO of town.

I think ya'll are forgetting how good a healthy Jrue Holiday is... guy is underrated and is an all-star talent and would really help to complete the team.

This is irrelevant because the guy is never healthy.

It's also irrelevant because we don't need him until next year.

Yes, with Hinkie gone we should lower expectations, great thanks for making me sad.)-:

Anywho, I think Okafor ends up elsewhere, although if he ends up in NOP, all the more likely that AD wants out sooner than later. (-:

Yes they need to get a 4.4 VORP (in half a season) superstar 30 year old PG who plays virtually every game and has all kinds of ties to Philly and BC, over a 1.1 VORP (in half a season) 26 year old PG who has missed 132 games over the past 3.5 seasons.

yeeeep.

This is just plain wrong. He played every game for the Pels in 2015-16 until he got his orbital bone fractured by a Porzingis elbow--not exactly an injury that might repeat. This year he's been healthy all year, but his wife had brain surgery early in the year and he missed quite a bit of time caring for her. I'm not worried about that repeating, either. I think he's really not much of an injury risk now. Love to have him back at around 4/90.

I don't think he's even been injured this year at all. He missed time because he wanted to be with his wife while she had a brain tumor removed. Perfectly understandable in most worlds. He had a rough two seasons with injuries but it looks as though he's gotten over them. The guy is really really good and obtaining him wouldn't be a bad thing. I don't get why you think it would be so horrible if it happened? Hell....Bring Lou and Jodie back too for all I care. I wouldn't have a problem with any of the three returning.
