michael porter jr has a chance to become a great scorer in the nba but damn the guy looks so passive and i’ve rarely see him playing any defense in all the clips ive watched.

I'm team Mo Bamba. Think he should go #1 for most teams outside of a few.

Guys, are we 100% sure that Michael Porter Jr. is as good a scorer as he's being hailed as right now?

I keep reading that his ball handling isn't all that good and might not be the best at creating for himself off the dribble. That sets off warning bells in my head and makes me think of Harrison Barnes or Otto Porter Jr. and not Kevin Durant.

i havent seen the handles and the guy doesnt have the alpha mentality that a lot of top prospects known for their scoring do. im basing my half assed projection on his size and his shooting ability. no doubt he has the potential to be an elite shooter but his motor is questionable and he just looks too passive out there

Ayton is my #1 guy, right now. Look at his body, conditioning level, athleticism and length. This is the guy people worried about not wanting to be great?

Of all the phenom bigs to come along in the last decade, he seems to be in the best shape, physically. Looks like a young David Robinson.

Definitely imposing. And his shot form looks on point. He'll be a top 3 pick for sure.

It's a shame UT vs Arizona didn't happen this year. Bamba vs Ayton would have been epic.

At least we get to see Ayton vs. Robert Williams on December 5th.

Thanks to BC Ainge is going to have his choice to pick Bagley Ayton Bamba or Williams to complete their team. All they need is a big who can protect the rim and these guy do more than that.

Ayton has easily the most potential in this draft, he is a generational talent with his combination of size, length, frame, athleticism and shooting touch.

Hopefully he ends up with the nonathletic Doncic or 7 foot wingspanned Bagley.

I have no idea what we'd do if we got the first overall pick in this draft. My very early, extremely kneejerk reaction has Ayton at #1. How does Embiid and Ayton coexist?

BC would trade down to the #3 pick to be even for what he did this past draft. And then draft a guy and proclaim this is the player we wanted at #1.

Problem solved.

Ayton plays PF no problem, also you get your embiid replacement if he never stays healthy. You don't pass on generational talent because fit concerns, however it remains to be seen how good he really is, how is his defense, IQ. Drummond has all the tools in the world and he is below average defender, tools and athleticism alone is not a guarantee for defense.

If Ayton proves to be a phenom and dominates all year like Oden, Embiid and Towns did, I think you have to just take him.

Only other option I'd consider is if there was a rookie contract scoring stud that we could get in addition to a pick swap.

Like if Phoenix sent us their 1st along with Devin Booker, for instance.

And Embiid has to endure a full workload without any medical scares, first and foremost.

Not a chance. Ainge isn't going to draft anymore wings. He already has 3 of them. There's no more room. He's going to draft a big.

As of today if we got the top pick I'm doing one of two things. I'm either trading it for a star veteran or trading down. I have to see the prospects first. I have no idea who will be the best. We don't exactly need a big man but having insurance for Embiid might be needed. We don't need a PG. We need a wing who can create his shot and defend and we need a PF who can defend and shoot 3s. I don't think any of the top 6 prospects are wings who can create their shot or PFs who can stretch the court to give room for Embiid. I might trade it for Klay and sign him to an extension instead of waiting for him to be an UFA in 2019. Bolden will likely be coming over and could be that 4 who can defend and shoot 3s. Right now I want a wing who can create his own shot and shoot.

Then you better hope the Celtics get this pick and the Kings blow in the following year. It looks like RJ Barrett is the next big thing as a wing that creates and shoots.

Lottery already happen? Lakers are sitting at the 8th pick right now. 4.9% chance of them getting the pick then.

If we got # pick: Michael Porter. Potentially better all-around than Dario. More athletic and a better shooter. Scoring mentality like sort of a Markelle Fultz as a forward. Best thing is that his offensive arsenal is predicated off his outside stroke. Perfect with Ben.

Great thing is that Porter could fall to five or six depending on team needs. Chicago, Atlanta Brooklyn gotta be looking for fives. A combination of the Lakers pick and the Sixers pick are a long shot to get us Porter. But it could happen. Use some other assets. That's why its never bad to stockpile, and always bad to overspend.

Simmons, Fultz, Covington, Michael Porter, Embiid
TJ McConnell, Furkan Korkmaz, Timothe Luwawu-C, Dario Saric, Jonah Bolden

Free Agent targets: Paul George, Aaron Gordon, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Avery Bradley, Wilson Chandler, Danny Green, Hezonja.

I have seen a few highlights of Porter Jr. He always has the ball in his hands. I don't think he would be a good fit with Simmons. Porter runs the point and brings the ball up. I'll have to watch some Missouri games to see how he plays on the college level and see if he plays off ball a lot and how good his shot and defense is. If I had to take a player at 1 and not trade out of it at this time I may take a big man lol. It's tough to say at this time when I don't know how anyone looks. Bagley is supposed to be good. Can he play PF for us?
