Maybe okafor/noel fit eventually works with embiid when they are 27/28 years old and their games have mature. Who knows. I wish both those guys the best.

But sixers really didn’t have time to develop those guys alongside embiid who was already really good his first season.

We will ride Horford with embiid for as long as we can. There is a reason Horford last season is only partially guarantee. But sixers gave Horford the most total guaranteed money regardless. And he gets everything if they win it all. It’s a good situation for Horford. He doesn’t have to play center full time. He can roam around with embiid in the game.

I truly hope we can get two full years out of Horford. Get a title. It’s all gravy after that if him and or embiid bodies break down eventually.

I believe our plan is KOQ to replace Al. KOQ is 4 years younger than AL. KOQ plays good D, good passer, can space out the floor and has good IQ.

Thats for short term. Who knows what kind of gems we can get in the draft.

That's a long ways away, but I'd expect that we'd just slide Harris back to PF and insert Thybulle in the starting lineup when the Tim ed comes to replace Horford.

Not to mention he hit Lillard with a hell of a screen on that Furk 3. Great play by Brown.

We'd have been better off with a "closer" against Portland...

I had no idea Al was so good. And such a threat from 3 point land.

He's been our most consistent player and probably 2nd most impactful behind Embiid.

Al Horford is a beast. Always knew he was a guy who made tons of plays that don't show up on the stat sheet, but its another thing to appreciate when he's on my team. MASSIVELY HUGE addition. And HUGE props to GM Elton for switching out Butler for him. It was the right move, which very well may result in chip(s).

His offense right now is Karl Malone with 3pt shooting. He’s that good. LoL

What's crazy is that the Celtics had Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Jason Tatum and Brad Stevens (who many say is a great coach) and they basically imploded during the regular season. After going to the conference finals the season before. The level of dysfunction on that team must have been amazing.

Stevens is a great coach and all of those players are good, but you aren’t going to go very far with Kyrie as your best player.

What makes Stevens a great not good coach? Maybe his coaching peak was when he first came to Boston.

In 2017 Rondo was torching his team in the playoffs. If not for a broken hand, the Bulls would have beaten them.
in 2018 an undermanned team when to the ECF....good for them.
Last year they lost in the second round.

Most important numbers for the team this year:
Net Ratings
Jo+Al: +15.7
Jo no Al: +24.6
Al no Jo: +11.9

You can guess what it is with neither on the court (it’s not pretty).

I think he is a great coach who hasn’t accomplished enough for that label to stick. His coaching ability that he has shown over the last few years is very high level purely on X’s and O’s.

We all knew Al would be impactful but watching him play is just a lot of fun. I love watching his brand of basketball. The screens, the passing, the spacing, defensive communication, switchability, rim protection, putting the ball on the deck. Beautiful stuff and it's made watching Sixers basketball a joy for me so far 7 games in.

Now Horford is not happy, maybe he’ll ask for a trade this summer. We knew he signed here for the $$. It’s hard for other good players to fit into this system unless you’re a stand still shooter.

“It’s not as good as I want to be,” Horford said of his 2019-20 season on Monday, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “I still haven’t been able to find my rhythm with the team.”
