Charlotte looking even more like a dumpster fire cutting a FRP from two years ago and Miles Bridges with another arrest warrant out for him.

They should be a candidate for a fire sale to get a new batch of players around LaMelo and Brandon Miller.

I'm a huge Sasserhead. Will be better than Cam Thomas for sure.

I enjoyed the JJ podcast with Joe Mazzulla. I mentioned during our playoff series how he relies too much on data during the playoffs and how he’s predictable this way. He mentioned how he changed it at one point in the playoffs because of two things.. 1.) you can’t rely on data in the playoffs because of the sample size (and personally because its almost like a sport is different in reg season and playoffs) 2.) the importance of being able to throw curve balls.

Maybe.
We can only know who’s got the advantage to be great, but it’s up to the players to reach that upside.
For all we know, maybe Springer (selected a spot after Cam) turns out better than those two and ends up being Jimmy Butler 2.0
Springer doesnt fit to my ideal prospect. For me, he didn’t have THAT advantage to start his career but he looks like he has crazy work ethic.
We can only make good bets.

Re: Around the League: 2023-24 Season
Cade Cunningham is struggling. Its partly him and partly the roster he’s playing with.
I dont think he’s a Luka type scorer that you can surround him with questionable shooters like Ivey. Then this Isaiah Steward at the 4 experiment has to stop.
I’d let Cade play the Luka role where he’s gonna be primary point of attack but i’m gonna make him play with someone who he can dump the ball to get him go to baskets like what Kyrie is. This will solve his scoring inefficiency.
Pistons also have to understand the “heroes journey” of an NBA franchise player. They have to create the environment for Cade to shine. Then they can start carving their roster into a winning one.
Right now, their roster is a mess. It’s filled with talents that are rejects. Lotto bigs who thinks they are bigger than what they can be. Guards who can’t shoot, can’t score but wants to have the ball.

Warriors vs Lakers feels like a reg season game1. Im interested to see how the warriors plan to play this season. They run a lot of 3 guard units.

Sure, but ultimately he'll probably just be another VanVleet. A munchkin that shoots high 30% to low 40% from the field and gets targeted defensively due to his size.
Monte Morris is the Piston G that I would have the most trust in. I just think he plays the game very intelligently and efficiently and it helps mitigate his defensive weaknesses.

Btw, I’ve been watching a lot of Trae and Steph clips recently, there’s a counter for munchkins as long as they shoot their 28ft and 30 ft jumpers. They can force bigs to step outside then they can use their speed to get into the paint. Once they get into the paint they can use floaters, spins, pivots and euros with the defender on their heels.
