I might feel that way come playoffs; but gotta use McCain as a starter for two reasons:

1. Use regular season to figure out if you can survive a M & M backcourt;

2. Need to see how McCain manages against starting caliber guards and get him experience doing it.

They should’ve traded Joel in the off-season we waited too long. It’s time for tank 2.0.

Just can’t make shots. Getting solid looks but never make them

And don’t think that will change

Morey brought back or added too much chaff on the roster. Outside of Yabu ( who doesn’t look like he can hang on defense sadly) and McCain most of his moves have been busts…. Hindsight and all that but still

Team needs a real shooting threat and a real set up guy

Idk how but yeah

This is not surprising. Like I've said a million times, this fraud GM has no clue how to build a basketball team. He's a collector of big names. Nothing more, nothing less.

For all the crowing he does, Embiid is arguably the softest 7 footer in the league. Rebounding is all about effort and he's always been a criminally weak rebounder. Surprised he repeatedly gets a pass for this as I don't see how any basketball purist wouldn't find that maddening to watch on a nightly basis.

His conditioning and overall body language are disgraceful. Remember when he was a force defensively? Sadly, those days appear to be over (and this isn't an overreaction coming off his season debut).

Dude's a bonafide beta and we're stuck with him.

Replace Lowry for Maxey and this is a closer game. Lowry is empty calories and easy to fry on defense.

Agree Shaquille O’Neal basically said the night he doesn’t have the mental make up to win a championship and I concur he’s a 13-year-old trapped in a man’s body

Not sure I get the anti-Morey hate right now. Martin's shot looks different, how is that Morey's fault if a player changes mechanics? PG13 is clearly going to be a massive upgrade at the wing. Maxey/George/McCain give us legitimate 3 point shooters. More than we've had in about 20 years.

The connective tissue pieces have had minimal practice time together and even less on court time to come together and gel. Martin showed tonight his value as a point of attack defender. OUbre just gives you length/athleticism and energy which will get focused better once Maxey comes back to the team.

Way too early to kill Morey. McCain good move; PG13 good move; Yabu good move. Martin/Oubre are still TBD.

How in the world with his knee that bad did they give him a contract extension? It’s like he’s 40 years old. Lol

It’s all hindsight or a bit

But Martin and oubre overlap even at their best

Bringing back Lowry when his washed ass low key cost us in the playoffs. Eric Gordon and Reggie Jackson wasting space. Drummond being as bad as he has been is a surprise but that’s part of the gm job

Other teams find gems and correct pieces… we hope our stars can cover for everything

So yeah it’s technically early but part of being a great fo is making the right choices… and we are years in now of dying of a thousand cuts every year on the margins

Philly needs more help off the bench. McCain looks solid, but Kyle looks old. Embiid looks washed, regardless if this is his first game back, he’s done. Strange make up of a team, but PG and maxey is a deadly duo

- PG looking good

- McCain looking like a steal

- Gordon DNP

- Maxey returning soon

- Embiid moving better than expected

Promising signs. However, Oubre and Lowry can't be here after the deadline.

Embiid always starts out slow. It takes him at least a few games to get into game shape. Not sure why this is breaking news or a sign that he's washed for so many.

I will say that neither Lowry or Oubre should be starters at this point in their careers. Give the kid a shot at starting at least until Maxey gets back.

Posted in the rookie thread on mains, but Morey's best move might have been the one he almost didn't make. Kid should be nearing untouchable status.

Last three starts for McCain:

30.6 MPG
22.7/2.3/2.0 on 45/41/100

Just a smart ballplayer.
