Re: The Legend of Joel Embiid
My preference is that Joel does not miss a game at all. However, if the doctor deem him not ready to play his return may be drag down to game 5 and that is when the home court advantage really kicks in.

Gotta disagree with you here. We'll lose for sure man... It's asking a lot for this team to come back from a 3-1 deficit...underpressure wrote:My preference is that Joel does not miss a game at all. Well, this is not what I actually meant lol. Still it is easier to come back from a 3-1 deficit when game 5 is at home than on the road. I wish it won't come that far though.

Ah, I guess you mean that you don't think they would be down 3-1... That's possible but unlikely. As well as we're playing, I can't see us being able to score/defend consistently without Jojo...

I don't doubt that Brett is preparing the players to be without him for the first round. Imagine how deflating it would be to be told that he was coming back and then he suffers a complication and can't make it back. That's different than him knowing he's going to be out though, I doubt anyone knows for sure at this point.

Yeah, I would prepare as if he isn't going to make it back before the first round, of course we don't even know who we will be playing at this point so there is only so much preparation that we can do.
He has to clear several hurdles at this point so lets just focus on the next one for now. He will be reevaluated by the doctor 5-7 days after surgery, and that would mean Thursday to Saturday this week.
Lets hope that that goes well, and then we move on to the next one. I think that doublevision is the kind of thing that could really mess him up, so hopefully he doesn't have any of that.
If he is clear from a concussion standpoint by next weekend, and the swelling is down, and there isn't any infection or anything like that then I think we can start feeling more confident about him starting the playoffs with us.

Re: The Legend of Joel Embiid
Doesn’t the nba allow teams with home court advantage (since 1st round is spread over 2 weeks). Doesn’t nba allow home court teams to play one game than choose to have 2-3 off days?
So sixers would play Sunday and than choose Wednesday as next game for playoff.
Obviously if Indiana had home court. They would want to play Saturday than immediately Monday knowing embiid isn’t fully ready?

the plan is to get as good as quickly as possible....I fully believe we could have been a borderline playoff team last year by adding young veterans....using or draft picks and cap space.....can I specifically tell you who? no.
