Now is our chance to use Kyrie's pettiness to our advantage.

Forget NY, come to Philly to crap on Boston.

There is also no truth to him being traded

Or could be smart to trade him now because his value wont be as high once he gets overpaid (max?) when his contract is up.

I'm good with this if we get picks + Marcus Smart. Celtics need to send out enough salary to bring back Capela after using their entire cap to sign Kemba Walker first. Smart's salary should work.

Then we sign D'Angelo Russell with the remaining cap space and we're golden...

PG Russell
SG Smart
SF Harris
PF Simmons
CE Embiid

We'd be totally set long term.

If there is any truth to this, I'd only do it for Tatum. Not Brown or Hayward, f that. We have all the leverage here.

They didn't trade Tatum for Davis, they aren't trading him for Capela. Ask for their Memphis pick or Brown.

I agree no chance they trade away Tatum. That's okay because I'll be more than happy to take Marcus Smart instead. That leaves us pretty much exactly enough cap room to MAX out D'Angelo Russell also.

I don’t see what you are so worried about if we offer him the full max he stays and that has been the plan all along.

And Kemba to the Celtics screams like agent threats to get the Hornets to pay up. I don’t think he will sign there.

I like Brown a lot, he's stagnated because they keep messing with his role and his minutes. I'd want him in a trade + the picks from Houston, he's got the size to switch 1-4 and while he's not a great creator he's someone that can catch and shoot or drive.

In that case I'd not trade with Boston. We have the leverage. if Jimmy wants to leave we find a player that helps us from another team. Brown has stagnated.

I wouldn't worry to much about the rumor. The source just says that Boston is interested. That they would take Capela is mere speculation. If you follow the links, it says so. Also, obvioulsy if Jimmy decides to walk and we can't get someone to replace him we'll want compensation. That's obvious. It doesn't mean we're interested in the trade. IMO, this will all be a moot point come june 30th. Him and Toby will be signing. I think we bring Redick back. My biggest concern is fill the bench with a scorer a defender and a quality back up big for JO. Those are my biggest concerns, not retaining Jimmy or Toby.

pg wish list

1. tomas satoransky - my #1 target whether we keep jimmy and tobias or not.
2. rajon rondo - championship pedigree. unbelievably smart. has developed into an average 3pt shooter. took 3.1/gm last year. time to accept a backup role.
3. derrick rose - instant offense off the bench. could be a 4th quarter killer. must keep in bubble wrap until may.
4. delon wright - quietly averaged 15pts, 7rbs, 7asts, 1.7sls in 10 games as a starter for memphis. they're giving the keys to ja morant. restricted free agent though
5. darren collison, corey joseph - unexciting veterans with a decent defensive presence.
6. tyus jones - restricted free agent. high assist to turnover ratio.
7. quinn cook - a healthier derrick rose type bucket getter. was not afraid of big moments.
8. jerian grant - jerian grant my do well playing defense and spot up shooting. he's not a facilitator or bucket getter.
9. elfrid payton, shaun livingston - at least they bring good defense.
10. emannuel mudiay - yikes

nah I think the Hornets want to blow it up...overpaying Kemba the supermax kills that.

I'd draw a line in the sand and ask for Brown

Nerlens is a free agent. Possible Embiid backup? Think we should definitely try

The deal I mentioned (Capela to BOS, Smart to PHI) can work out well for the Celtics after signing Kemba. They can resign Wanamaker as the backup PG and Theis as the backup big w/Bird Rights. Then they resign Marcus Morris with the Room Ex. Here is their roster:

http://www.shamsports.com/capulator?id=4413028495d15012999942317337126

PG Walker | Wanamaker | ???
SG Brown | Ojeleye | Langford
SF Tatum | Hayward | G. Williams
PF Morris | Theis | Yabusele
CE Capela | R. Williams | ???

I could easily see this as a 50+ win team w/home court in the 1st round.

Teams shouldn't supermax anyone. Those contract terms are a franchise killer.

You better off losing a star.

In other news, the Center Market is going to be flooded with quality backup players (Kaminsky, Noel the last two).
It almost impossible the Sixers can't come out with a quality and cheap backup for Joel

Jaylen Brown's fake three point percentage will transform back into a pumpkin the moment he enters someone's scoring core. And then what kind of contract are you supposed to offer him?
