Yep, but they have to relocate the franchise at Disney World.76ciology wrote:kriss73 wrote:MJ Warren in the bubble.

We all know Sixers live or die with Embiid.
Two years in the playoffs and common denominator is we struggled against teams that can slow down Embiid.
Adebayo may not be a formidable defensive player but he’s sure a better defender than Theis or Kanter.

Jo has destroyed Miami this year. 27.3 and 13.3 on .694 TS.
I actually think Kanter is a better option than Bam against Embiid. Bad defender in general, but he's strong enough to not get completely bullied, and they've got perimeter guys that can double down and scramble back (as well as coach that can out scheme Brett in his sleep).
Matchup minutes aren't a perfect barometer, but in 14:22 against Bam he's put up 31 points, shooting 47.8% and got to the line 9 times.
In 12:01 vs Kanter he's at 21 points, 36.8%, 8 FTA
Regardless, I think he's a problem for either team if he's passing well and guys are making open shots, because he's not going to get many 1 vs 1 looks. I'd like to see them working on a Shake/Jo PnR, because that's what caused Kanter to get played off the floor in OKC

Must have done dopey things off the court and been a trainwreck in sitdowns with teams for him to go undrafted.
Because he was a top 100 highschool recruit that put up big numbers as a freshman in a power conference. Weird that he would seemingly get overlooked by EVERYONE.

I mean, is he really a steal? He's shooting like 29% in his last 6 games.

I think so. He's a defensive player with point production. If his handle or jumpshot develops even a little bit, he's a potential starter on a playoff team, given a theoretic two-way ability.
Might be the next Norman Powell.

Re: Around the League - 2019-2020
He's already a starter on a playoff team: it's vital to balance out the OKC's starting 5.
Currently his shot is almost a "Ben Simmons" level .... we'll see ... for sure he's not afraid to shoot threes here and there.
He's undrafted so he's a steal. Imho he is on the Marcus Smart path.
Not bad for an undrafted player.

Spoiler:
You know what you didn’t factor in?
Letting Bucks face the Heat and potentially losing against them.
Based on stats, Adebayo is the league’s best defender against Giannis. Biid is second.

Bam is just a cog in Spolstra's defensive machine. He wasn't even a special defender coming out of Kentucky.

Miami has to play zone with Bam guarding embiid. They will protect him as much as possible. He’s simply not strong enough at
This stage. Maybe bam develops Al horforf strength in a few years to be able to body bigger players.

Re: Around the League - 2019-2020
Great win for the Thunder. They're really locked in.
They have 25 losses and have Memphis, Wizards, Suns coming up then finish with Heat and Clippers. Heat (25 losses) and Pacers (26 losses) play each other twice so there will be at least 20 teams with 27 losses. Pacers also play the Rockets (25 losses). Still up in the air and things could quickly change if the Thunder blow one of those easy games (Suns are playing well) but there's reason to be optimistic about that pick conveying.
Tomorrow the Heat also play the Bucks (coming off a loss) and the Rockets play the Lakers (coming off a loss) so maybe we get some help there. I'd love for it to be wrapped up by the time that Thunder/Heat game happens so there's no risk of shenanigans.

BAM absolutely is a BEAST of a defensive player at the 4. He is the only player so far I have seen legit outmuscle and has the quicks to guard Giannis’s first step and down low in man on man defense without a double. He outweighs Giannis by like 15 lb too even though he is like 6-9, but he absolutely clamped Giannis in their two games and is a big reason why they won both games against Buck. I am not sure how he will match up against a mammoth 5 like Embiid primarily trying to park downlow unlike Giannis who uses athleticism, speed, and his length to rush the paint first before exploding. Even though Simmons has the length, he doesn’t have Adebayo’s build and lower body strength.

In the large sample size that is a week of games lol? Yeah sure, offensive efficiency is up ~2 points from pre bubble, not sure how much of that is SSS and not having some of the worst offenses around anymore though. I've heard some speculation that it's easier to shoot in the small gym without crowds so maybe that will be a thing. This is still basically preseason also not sure how much defensive gameplanning teams are doing.

I was watching the Lakers vs Okc game. Doris burke said something interesting.
She said the fouls have been up. Then it reminded her of what Jalen rose said about of having a silent gym makes it easier for players to shoot and for refs to not get distracted from the crowd.

Watched the Lakers vs Okc game and Bucks vs Nets. Both Lakers and bucks have clinched their positions both aren’t running it at 100%. Bucks didnt play Giannis vs Nets down the stretch on a close game.
Lakers really have no one reliable after Bron and AD. Having waiters and JR are big help in this issue but i still see a big hole

The Lakers attempting to solve their halfcourt ball handling woes by signing two doofuses like Waiters and Smith during the hiatus speaks loudly of their actual title chances.
Gonna be a Clippers/Raptors final.
