If Simmons and Embiid are healthy and the Sixers hit on their first round pick, there's a decent shot they are competing for the 8 seed next season. Even if they miss, we're not looking at a high lottery pick.

How about trading next year's Sixers first rounder (NOT the Lakers pick) plus Okafor for a top 8 pick this year. Okafor has no future here. His only value is as a sweetner.

The health is a huge if though. I wouldn't do it unless top 5 protected

I think that who we get with our pick this year had hardly any bearing on how good we will be next year.

It's simple. If Embiid is healthy all year, we are a playoff team.

philly out: Okafor / Okc 1st
philly in: Noah / ny #8

Take on a ton of money in hopes of striking gold at 8

Cha out; plumlee / #11
cha in: okafor / okc 1st 2020

save a TON of money and get a better player

nyk: noah / 8
nyk in; plumlee / 11
Drops 3 spots to get younger and save a 5m per over contact

how bad is that?

If Embiid and Simmons are healthy, I would be dissapointed at finishing #8
#6 should be realistic and would even give us a possibility for a secound round.

I'm of the opinion that we're too late in the rebuild to take on guaranteed roster spots and high salary for undesirable players.

We're approaching a max contract, prime Embiid era. We need to be unblemished, financially, to have the ability to build around him on a yearly basis. An albatross like Noah on the books for three years is a serious impediment for us to be able to do that.

I seriously doubt NY would give away their #8 lottery pick in what amounts to basically an 8 player draft, just to give away a 3 year contract.

And Charlotte definitely isn't trading the #11 pick plus Plumlee for Okafor. They traded value for Plumlee. They think he's a positive. They're not going to look at him as a salary dump to get Okafor.

1. They traded Hawes and Hibbert for him, not exactly what I would call value.

2. And if they do value Plumlee as an asset on that deal, their evaluation of big men might be so bad that they are the sucker for Okafor we've been waiting on.

I have my sights set on that 5th seed. When healthy, I think we are better than the hawks, pacers, heat, and bulls. If the raptors lose Lowry, I think we pass them also.
Maybe I'm just optimistic.

I think we can compete for a playoff spot too but I hope people understand young teams don't win. I know we have a trump card in Embiid who made us play like a 49 win team when he played so I understand the optimism but we are still young. Just being an 8 seed would be tough. We are playing against grown men who have seen every trick in the NBA.

#6, #25 and Murray to Philly
#3, #13 and Okafor to Orlando
A.Gordon and Hezonja and #39 to Denver

Why?
Philly can pick up Monk and with Murray and him, both are perfect fits. Denver build around The core of Jokic, Harris, Gordon, Hezonja and Mudiay Sounds very talented and promising, which should complement very good. And in Orlando they start the rebuild with Jackson, Ball or Fox, Donovan Mitchell and Okafor.

Murray, bayless
Monk, TLC
Covington, Anderson
Simmons, Saric
Embiid, Holmes

Payton,
Fournier, Mitchell
Jackson, Roses
?
Okafor, Biyombo

Mudiay, Nelson
Harris, Beasley
Chandler, Hezonja
Gordon, Faried
Jokic, Plumlee

This is beyond ridiculous for Denver. Good thing you posted this on the 76ers board.

I like the idea, but I don't see DEN going that. AG would be real nice next to Jokic, though.

Mudiay and Barton to SAC
10 to ORL
AG to DEN

AG could have a breakout year in Denver. Denver really liked Murray, he had tough start, but quickly turned it around. Seems like Murray was the best of the 3 guards from the top of last years draft, Hield and Dunn.

Assuming Fultz and Ball off the board at 3:

Sixers send: #3, #39, 2018 2nd
Sixers receive: Dragan Bender, Tyler Ulis

Thoughts? Does either side consider this?
