Re: General 76ers Thread
I don't think it matters if Hawes cares. It's just sort of a **** thing to do, to put a teammate on blast like that whether they care or not. Whether its a big deal or not, it's just sort of consistent with Turner's social stupidity and is indicative of why he's probably not the greatest teammate.

Re: General 76ers Thread
So, the Stephenson guy on IND... He looks like a Hinkie Guy. He's 23. Is he a UFA this summer cause he was a 2nd round pick?
How high up on Hinkie's Wish List is that guy? How many $$$ per season? Fit with MCW?
or we can bash ET some more.

“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

I don't care what Hawes thinks, I just find it freaking weird to be his age (or any age above 12) and taking pictures in the bathroom to be disseminated publicly, while of course raising the obvious questions asked earlier when he said he didn't use it. That is like the people that ask to use your bathroom and start going through medicine cabinets and stuff...which I could see Emo Turner doing.

If you're a big enough ey...hole to get Obama toilet paper, and have it displayed in your home, you should get put on blast. Creep.

It really is just not that weird to post about someone having crazy political toilet paper.
If I go to any of your houses, and you have Obama toilet paper, I will definitely be texting someone a picture of it with the caption, lol.

Yeah Hawes is really creepy. He is just a big dork. But the toilet paper is funny. ET is just a person with a chip on his shoulder about everything. He is having a career year to him and he wants to know why he is being criticized or talked about.

Re: General 76ers Thread
Guys, get over it. I understand ET was the 2nd overall pick and didn't live up to expectations. You criticize his jump shot, defense, athletic ability, etc. and now this about "outing" Hawes choice of TP? WGAS?
Hawes is constantly tweeting his negative thoughts about Obama, especially during the election. Hawes is a huge Republican supporter and is very public about that and his disdain for the Democrats. I'm sure he could care less that ET "outed" his TP. Not a big deal, but lets just attack ET anyhow. Give it a rest.
And at the end of the day ET not living up to his #2 selection is probably going to work out for the best. Would Hinkie and Brown be here if ET was a star? Noel? MCW? Two 2014 lottery picks? All this cap room?
In the long run I'd rather have where we are at now then have Doug Collins, a star in ET, Jrue, Thad, Hawes, etc. So ET not living up to being a #2 pick is working in our favor. Thank him and not criticize stupid, meaningless crap.

Re: General 76ers Thread
lol are some of you guys serious?
a guy who has Barack Obama toliet paper and is as politically out spoken as Spencer Hawes probably doesn't care about being "outed" by a goofy instagram pic. It's a lighthearted post by ET, you don't think he's actually offended do you?
You're taking this way way way too seriously. I'm wondering if i'm just missing the sarcasm here

We're just helping ET build character... He's been great for the Tank (except for the Boston Game). Best wishes, ET!
Personally, I need some kind of intervention. The trade deadline can't come soon enough. Why do I care so much? Hinkie is "The Most Interesting Man in the World"... He's gone Radio Silent. Hinkie doesn't sleep; Hinkie waits...
I read someone's post recently that made me think Hinkie could make a run at signing Lance Stephenson this summer as an UFA. How freakin' sweet would that be! Surely Hinkie can flex his salary cap muscle on a 23 yr old rising star. Stephenson should be number 1 on THE POACH LIST.

I think a lot will depend on the Pelicans pick. We draft Parker or Wiggins or even Randle. We will have a 1, 3 and a 5. We will Need a SG with Pelican pick. If not then Stephenson might work. I am certainly for it if we trade Thad.

Re: General 76ers Thread
Can somebody please explan the lovefest for Lance Stephenson? SIgning him for big money is a huge risk imo, especially on such a young team.

And thus it will result in a bidding war and he will probably get overpaid. I don't want him.

Re: General 76ers Thread
I can't speak to Stephenson's character. If you think he might bust, I assume it's because he's got some "Dennis Rodman" or "Meta World Peace" episodes ahead. Maybe he's juiced. I don't know. But he sure does have an all around nice game. He can catch and shoot, drive and create, he's a strong finisher. 6' 5" height w/ 6' 11" wingspan, 225 lbs... nice fit w/MCW.
Here's some video:

Stephenson's "Lawyer comments" in the DraftExpress interview are troubling. Most 23 year olds shouldn't be arguing about a damn thing because they don't know s*** yet. If Hinkie and BB can deal with the personality, the player could really add some SWAG to this team.
But I like Dion Waiters too. What do I Know?

He impressed me in the Miami series last year in the playoffs. But I wouldn't dish out big money for him.

I think thats a fair statement. But if you can get a young player that will fit with your core, for nothing bit cap space, then overspending by 2m a year is still a good use of assets.
