The great thing with the 3 big men is they are all a bit different. The diversity among their skills is going to be nice to have for matchup problems. I think Brett Brown finds a way to utilize all three players.

In an era of small ball, I think the Sixers may have the weapons to defend and punish small ball. It will force teams to play big and to the Sixers' strength. I still think the key is Embiid. He's going to have the ability to play pick and roll defense and then punish smaller guys in the post on offense. Guys like Draymond Green will have a tough time trying to guard Embiid in the post, but Embiid will be able to stick with Green on defense.

yea man, his post game s is freakishly polished for a kid his age. He probably has a better post game than a majority of NBA bigs.

If Russell is legit..there is no way he doesn't win it playing in LA.

History has shown talented bigs have a greater impact early on than talented guards. Even though I like Russell's upside more, I think Okafor will adapt much quicker. Okafor is probably going to average 17 and 8 on 55% FGs.

Doesnt change what I said lol.

ESPN barely even acknowledges us and you'd think Russell went 1st overall. He has the hype.

I hope Okafor is mad as **** and bodies dudes this year tho. He needs to be lifting cars in rage and stuff

Dude is gonna play with Kobe who is gonna take 25 plus shots a game and they wanna get another star who would take idk what 15-20 and they have randle and clarkson. Okafor will win ROY easily unless Joel is healthy and goes off as well. Post asb I bet Okafor is close to 20 ppg, I would say 17 and 8

Oh alright, I see what you mean. One of Okafor's strengths is his offensive rebounding, he's great at that. I figure with the vast amount of bricks our guys put up he'll get a lot of easy buckets, making his offensive numbers look even more impressive. Just worried about his defense tho.

While Okafor was the right pick, it does still feel like kind of a kidney punch that we are left with such an unbalanced roster.

But, life is not fair, and we will be ok. Sometime. In the future. Seriously.

Need to re-sign Brett Brown, if he chose to leave because of this taking longer than expected than that would be absolutely devastating. I'm on board with the process as long as he is tbh.

Brett Brown is absolutely the right man for this job. I hope he gets to see it through and reap the rewards.

Did you see the reports yesterday morning that Okafors camp told the Sixers not to draft him(once word that Russell/LA surfaced? Okafor wanted to be 1 of 2 places. LA first and his backup plan sounded like NY. He didnt want any parts of Philly for a myriad of reasons.

Sixers already had 2 Bigs and they have been a raging dumpster fire for the past 3 years. Think its safe to say he was pissed about coming to Philly initially. I would expect Hinkie+ Brett Brown calms Okafors concerns and explains that the reason the team has been a dumpster fire is to be able to draft a player like him.

Jahlil Okafor probably wasn't happy to come here but it looks like he's over it now and ready to work (per his tweet).

Brown and Hinkie explaining that he's going to be our offensive centerpiece and have a ton of touches will probably make him happier about the situation.

I want to see 20 ppg / 10 rpg / 3 apg / 2 bpg from Okafor as a rook. Big numbers yes, but he's the kind of guy who can do it. Also if he does put up numbers like that, he would become a top 5 asset in the league.

If he puts up those numbers, forget being an asset. He's a franchise player for us.

The cast of Around the Horn hated the pick. That's the clincher; I'm all in on Okafor.

Didn't watch but who the hell else are we supposed to pick? I hated that we had to pick Okafor but the talent drop from 3-4 in this draft was immense imo.

We should have picked

1) Russell
2) Towns
3) Steph Curry

They have no idea either. They are not elite sports people, not whatsoever. It is their job to elicit a response.

I'm just glad I no longer have to hear about 2nd round assets, or drafts getting Hinkied.. Thank god!! Hopefully Okafor is all in and we can have the best front court in the NBA for years to come.

And there in lies my problem with most people's issues with our rebuild. Everyone detracts but never have an answer to what the better option was in a given position. Would someone really have taken any of the remaining players over Okafor? We got stuck in a crap position but that doesn't mean the pick was wrong.

Its kinda funny that if New York or Boston had gotten Okafor it would have been lauded as landing a franchise altering big, but because its Philly its bad.

Everyone always says that you must take BPA but very few people actually mean it.
