The New York Triangle comments make more sense now, lol. I was so confused.

Chicago and Indiana would reject those slop offers in a second. The NBA is about quality not quantity.

Why would BC trade Okafor with Embiid such a big question mark? He will want to find a better point guard and likely moves Noel to get it done. The story floating around that BC coveted the Brooklyn job more has to be false. Look at what he is walking into with the 76ers vs. the Nets. The only thing that would make that credible is if he was totally in love with overpaying in free agency and thought NY was a more attractive destination for players. He knows that isn't what is needed for either team at least not yet anyway. Also, the Russian owner is likely more kneejerk with the hook than the group he now works for.

Not only that but when Embiid gets healthy he's a center. Noel can't play PF as he's painfully shown this year.
Thats why in the other poll I picked Embiid and Okafor. My preference is to extend Noel at a reasonable rate but I'm not sure if he is willing settle into a backup job this early in his career.

I agree that they would reject it, but I think they are getting somewhat comparable quality. Okafor is an offensive freak and they could get a top flight rookie in 2017 which gives them cheap sustainability. I don't know the Bulls financial situation, but what if they can't really make a splash in FA this offseason? Are they going to trot the same team out next year and hope they don't have any problems?
The NBA is about innovation and not complacency.

triangle offense is passe. Try something new.

^^ Agree, Noel woul appear to be the odd man out, and that will make some people angry when it happens, but they'll be ok. Okafor is way too young with way too much untapped potential to give up on. Noel, is a nice prospect, but is vastly overrated on this forum because of the dreaded small ball lust of a spell that so many have fallen under. You can still play small with Okafor and Embiid in the mix, just don't play them together for stretches, and have TJ or Canaan play power forward, while Grant plays center and you'll get your smallball fix.

That's the wrong approach. Do you want to go back to winning 40 games then getting blasted in the 1st round? Come on man. I have no problem with trading Okafor or Noel but if you do that it would have to be for a quality player or potential top 6 draft pick. And if Hinkie were still here we were going to move forward anyway. I wish people would stop acting like Hinkie would have just tanked again next season. People have issues. If a healthy Embiid plays next season and if Saric comes over and if we get a top 2 pick, that alone would have us going forward and winning games. We were going to go after FAs this summer as well with Hinkie so stop with the nonsense.
Lotta "ifs" there.
What if Embiid re-injures his foot? At this point you have to believe that more likely than not Embiid gets another injury next season be it foot, back or whatever. Maybe it won't be season ending, but the guy has already had a ton of bone related issues. If the Sixers get 60 games out of him next year it should be considered a win.
What if Saric stays in Europe one more season? It makes sense for him so he doesn't have to play under a rookie contract.
What if the Sixers get the #3 or #4 pick? Right now they have a 46.5% chance at a top 2 pick and a 53.5% chance at the #3 or #4 pick.
What would Hinkie do, draft Kris Dunn or Buddy Hield and call the asset collection phase over? With Embiid hurt, he'd still be lacking that superstar that he so desperately coveted.

If Hinkie were still here and Embiid still couldn't get on the court and Saric stays overseas and we get the 3rd or 4th pick he still would have gone after free agents. Hinkie wouldn't just stand pat this offseason. He said as much.

It depends on the players that get us there. If a couple of Noel, Okafor, Saric, Bob, Grant, (Sixers pick + potential Lakers pick) and Embiid are big reasons why, I'd be thrilled to win 40 games. That means they're progressing.

Noel will be a restricted FA. He won't get a max offer from anyone unless he blows up next year. Either way I think we would match.

Uh. Yes. That would be a great improvement from where we are now.
You can't develop 6 or 7 young players at once and still be competitive. It just doesn't work that way in the NBA (unless you're the celtics I guess).

Is he a good passer? He doesn't have a post game, but I think if he can make good passes and cut it probably could work.

Also, after we hang Brown out to dry, we'll hire D'Antoni. On top of that, we will bring in Steve Nash in some capacity in the FO. Just my prediction.

Hopefully. Brown isn't the guy you want moving forward as he's done nothing to justify keeping him around. Record aside, what has he done from a player development standpoint to justify keeping him as head coach? No one on the entire roster has improved. Personally, I'd like to see someone like Jeff Van Gundy, Thibs, or maybe even Steve Nash as the head coach.

He is because he made a group of D-Leaguers competitive on most nights. I'm not sure what you're looking for from a player development standpoint. Everyone is roughly around 20 years old and not 100% ready for the league, or not worthy of being in the league at all. The raw deal that Brown has been handed is insurmountable. Also the relationships he has with the players are obviously worth noting.
But let's hand the head coaching gig to completely unproven Steve Nash. That should work well.

If the Lakers pick does convey this year would you risk trading it to a team you think won't be good next year for their unprotected 2017 pick?

Not if that team is Golden State
