From the Lakers source.

Apparently Skal and Brown's workouts today with the Lakers went very, very well. Lakers very impressed with skal, but scared to draft him at #2. Brown apparently was more impressive in every aspect of their workout compared to Ingram

It's probably just due diligence on the Sixers part, but I wonder if Ingram's camp wanted him to work out for the Sixers because his Lakers workout didn't go well and he wants to get word back out there that he had a good workout to solidify himself back at #2.

If his agent's smart, he's had him dog his workouts so he ends up in Boston :D

Even if the Lakers passed on him, which I can't see happening, the Celtics would just scoop him up.

Unless they suddenly decide that they like Okafor more than anyone else in the draft.

I'm not surprised to see Brown shooting up boards. He's raw but his skillset will get him drafted high. I suggested four if we got the lakers pick wouldn't be surprised to see him go three.

If the Lakers are unimpressed with Ingram they should just trade down. One of the teams below them in the 3-5 range would love to take Ingram.

I'm liking Ben Simmons more and more every day. We're going to have the best young core in the league if Embiid is healthy.

Let's be honest what young core is better than ours?

Embiid (Healthy)
Okafor
Simmons

Not only the biggest front court in terms of size and length, but the most offensively talented one. That's where I see our team in 2-3 years.

Well, the Warriors are still young, but assuming you mean teams with 2-3 year players, no team would have better young talent than ours. Including Minnesota. Noel, Okafor, Simmons, Embiid, Saric>>>>>>Wiggins, Towns, Lavine, Shabazz.

and IMO it's not even close. Assuming Embiid is healthy. If not, changes things.

But it doesn't count because we only won 47 games over the last 3 years! Now we have a "losing culture" so it doesn't matter how much talent we have! These young guys will never learn how to win because we lost so many games the last 3 years!

I would define young teams as teams whose core is younger than 25.

So that means teams like Minnesota, Orlando, Utah, Millwaukee

The way Lebron is playing tonight is how I envision Simmons playing with us. Operating out of the post, but running the team in crunch time.

Lol

Please let this be true

Why would any of the few people that are actually there for the workout (media not allowed) happen to have loose enough lips to tell someone (who conveniently posts on realgm) about that? I'm sorry but that sounds like someone trying to get attention.

If this poster has a friend or family member that works in the Lakers front office/developmental staff, clearly if I search their post history i'd be able to find some other post that confirms that they have this inside info?

I partially don't buy that "lakers source" cause I think its BS and I partially just don't want it to be true lol

Idk, he didn't privately message me. I don't like discussing other forum's/board's discussions which is why I just alluded to it, suggest reading it for yourself.

Laker fan here, I've read like half of the 100 page thread on Ingram vs. Simmons that got locked and I can't believe how many of you guys were team Ingram. Its kind of reassuring because I learned a lot about Ingram's game and Simmons obviously but that doesnt pertain to me.

One peculiar thing I noticed though is how many of you have faith in Embiid. Not just faith that he'll get healthy, but many of you guys believe that he's the best player on your team right now. From another fan's perspective, I rank your assets like this: Simmons > Jah > Noel > Embiid > Lakers pick > Saric > Roco > the rest. I just don't have faith that he'll come back. As a fan of a team who had Bynum I understand the blind optimism when its your player though.

Can't wait for Lakers/76ers games next year. They were already interesting because of the whole D'Angelo/Jah angle but now with Ingram/Simmons theres gonna be another "who made the right pick" battle.

I noticed on other boards that fans of other teams treat Embiid like he is Greg Oden. I'm more optimistic than most, but I think he is still the franchise. I am optimistic about his health, and convinced of his abilities.

Now that we are getting Simmons, Embiid isn't our only chance, but I still see him as our best chance. The comparisons to Bynum are similar on the surface, but different in truth. Bynum was a lazy unserious knucklehead, with a degenerative knee condition, and a low tolerance for pain. Embiid has a more serious individual injury perhaps, but a much better prognosis for full recovery. Broken bones heal way better than messed up joints. He is also getting world class care, and caught his injury ridiculously early. Remember that a good bit of the common poor prognosis for navicular injuries stem from the average time between injury and diagnosis of 4-7 months, where the bone injury is exacerbated. Embiid caught his injury literally hours after the first sign of pain.

Outsiders don't follow his progress like Sixers fans do. He is healthy again, and he will have every chance to stay healthy.

We are all still holding our breath, but his health is better than most people think that it is simply because there is a stigma to the injury. Medical, surgical and training techniques, along with the details of his specific injury are much better than the typical situation experienced by players in the past.

Agree. Sixers also are taking a super cautious approach. If embiid's still in bad shape, I would expect them to sit him out to give our bigs more minutes for development or showcase and there's Simmons who'll get everyone excited.

If Embiid is 50-50 I wouldn't think Sixers peeps like Brett or Embiid would be teasing everyone with the hope of embiid.

For now, I'm more concern with how rusty he'll be and his quickness relative to what's required in how the game is played nowadays.

Sixers are excited about Biid because he's like a block office caliber hollywood film with a trailer that's been playing for 2-3 years. Hopefully we'll be watching Biid next season and hope he doesn't flops.
