But what do you think of Knecht?
Knecht was the MOST NBA READY player in the draft to be productive NOW!!! Every team in the draft knew that but lottery teams are generally rebuilding teams who wants YOUNG players to grow with the team like how OKC started. Not OLD players. However, contenders down in the draft wanted Knecht, so if the Sixers intention was to trade the rookie, they would had taken Knecht and everyone knew that. No one wants to draft raw players like young Hood-Schifino who still can't crack get any playing time. Had raw Springer who we drafted helped us in any meaningful way? Knecht was the right player for us to win NOW, not LATER! The sooner you realize this, the more informed you would be as a fan.

McCain really carried the team in the second half last night. This period where Maxey is out is a real opportunity for his development, and it's nice to see him stepping up to take advantage of it. I really like his potential and hope we don't trade him.

McCain is doing this and it's not on the back of unsustainable three point percentages. Impressive stuff from the rookie and he's defending his butt off too.

I do think he's going to be a good enough defender. He's just smart, and he's going to pick up those little details in the coming years. He doesn't have long arms, athletic or quick like some shorter guys such as Melton, but a very strong base and has an understanding of positioning on both ends really...

I think that strong base could end up being better suited on slightly bigger players than of course the quick athletic guards. He's fortunate to have a little of both on this roster to practice against and learn though.

Lowry is really the perfect archetype for him to learn from

Depends on how much run he gets with Maxey but he could legit be ROY.

My thoughts exactly, but didn't feel like opening up that debate from a few pages back

Who's going to be better? Sheppard or McCain?

Nobody knows. But its very likely that both will be better than Scoot Henderson.

The only good news this season.

His problem will be when Maxey returns, because this mediocre coach will give the bench minutes to his loved Lowry.

Pretty sure Oubre will be sent to the bench, not Lowry

I still like Sheppard better because of his defensive instincts, but I wouldn't be shocked if it's McCain since he has more size to him.

He's averaging more points per game than C Martin with half the playing time

He gives that feeling when you know a rookie will be special. Same thing I felt with Maxey

No Embiid, Maxey, or George tonight. Let Jared play the whole game and shoot 30 shots.

This guy has definitely been the most exciting thing about this team in a while.

Agreed he is very underrated as a defender with quick hands. Solid fundamentals. Everyone here who understands our overall need would swap Jared for Reed if the Rockets ever offered without hesitation. He would immediately be our starting PG to allow Maxey to play his natural position at a 2. McCain never play the point at any level and is not really that efficient as a shooter unlike Reed was in college.

I think he was kidding in asking who would be better.

He wouldn't immediately be our starting PG because he's not immediately the starting PG for the Rockets. Maxey is our current PG and he wouldn't jump ahead of him.

McCain was a point guard in high school and was needed at SG because they already had Jeremy Roach. I like Reed as much as anyone but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he's easily better at this level. He needs to play more than 12 minutes per game before crowning him.

Rockets has no need to rush him as a starter cause their backcourt are fully set and they are winning. I wouldn't replace either FVV or Jalen with Reed during his rookie reason but we would fast track him into our starting lineup due to our bad 2-9 start that may get out of hand unless you like our pathetic backcourt now with Maxey out.

There is no way I would even start Jared even at the 2 spot right right.
