I don't really see us making any moves accept to dump some of the useless contracts like Willie Green. You guys are right though, we don't have much appeal to sign a great player. We're just going to have to settle for seing how far our young players grow together.

If one of them become a FA and leave, we are screwed. So just hugg ya' nuts and count the roasary cuz we are just winning games now cuz the east sux.

props to Seeso.

I don't mean to sound like a "non-believer" but could someone plz tell me what sixersfan1976 has been right about?

I would just like to see a little proof or evidence that he truly does have an inside source.

Sixerfans claim to fame is the Iverson deal. He got something else before that (a minor signing in training camp, I believe) but he was on this board almost every day during the Iverson fiasco and despite being attacked (personally in some cases) he stuck to his guns and he was right on with what the final package ended up being.

He was here on Draft Night '07 as well and was telling us what the Sixers were trying to do. He talked a lot about the Sixers trying to trade up for Yi and that was written about later on by Jasner and Narducci.

That was the good. If I'm going to be fair, he was asked about the Sixers' feelings on Thaddeus Young a lot at draft time and I believe he reported that the Sixers were not interested in him. As we know, the Sixers loved him and ended up drafting him.

I believe sixerfan to be extremely credible but that's not to say that what he reports is always the absolute facts of the matter.

I do respect him. And I've always believed him. I just wanted to know some instances where he was right as a reassurance.

He's also always cool about everything and never a know-it-all. He's right enough that he's credible

There's a lot of respect going on around here. I respect you Sandalf for respectfully asking how the respected poster named Sixerfan1976 came to earn his respect.

Where's Aretha Franklin when you need her?

I was originally respecting Jacksonite's reference.

I was accused of disrespect and reprimanded tonight...so I have to be careful I don't rock the boat.

I'm such a scofflaw

I don't think you have to go as far as to say you respect anyone on this board... but hey man... we can turn back the clock and act like it's the summer of '68 AKA the summer of love.

Enough of this talk....

I'm starting to wonder if we're going to see a quiet Thursday with a deal or two that trickle in or if right now is the calm before the storm? There are too many teams that are saying that they want to make a move for things to not happen, right?

I'm sort of hoping something goes down tonight. That's the way things went when we acquired C-Webb. The deal came out sometime around 10PM at night and so hopefully I see that the following blockbuster went down for the Sixers...

To MIN: Willie Green
To PHI: Michael Doleac

WOOOO! Doesn't that fire you up??

Miller

Post#235 » by Mahorn at the 4 » Wed Feb 20, 2008 1:56 am

Sixerfan,

I know you are saying that we won't deal Miller, but what if a team like Cleveland were to step up with a too good to be true offer? Say an expiring, a Kyle Lowry (somehow) and picks?

Also, would Seattle really deal us Thomas for expirings, Green and the Utah pick?

Sixerfan,

What % of likelihood would you put on these guys being dealt:

Green
Evans
Carney
Miller
Giricek

Rick...you ask a lot of questions!!! I'll go out on a limb...10% on Miller and Smith, everyone else if 50/50.

Ya, my grandma told me a long time ago that if you want something, you have to ask for it.

Plus, the suspense of the deadline is fun... oh to be a fly on Ed's walls to hear what's going on.

I know SF is saying Miller is not going to be moved, but what if, what if Clev steps up and offers the sun and moon?
