I've got a crazy plan. Why not go for it all like Miami, NYK, etc have done?

Amnesty Brand. Let Hawes, Williams walk. Trade Thad, Jrue, ET and the 15th pick to Portland for Wes Matthews and Johnny Flynn, along with the 6th pick. Portland might do this considering it would be a move that gets them Jrue and ET, while allowing them to keep 11th and 15th picks to build around LMA. Thad is a throw in, but still provides value because it frees up more money for the Sixers.

Draft one of Robinson, Jones, Sullinger, or Henson. Sign Deron Williams and D12 with the pitch being a chance to play together, alongside Iggy and other young guys.

Deron/Flynn
Matthews/Meeks
Iggy/Sam Young
Lavoy/6th pick
D12/Vucevic

There should be motivation for D12 and Deron to come here to play with Iggy. And maybe enough money for all of that. Right? I know it's purely fantasy, but if that roster came true, it would easily be the 2nd best team in the East. Miami would have something to fear. And the Sixers would be legit contenders for the NBA title.

Other than the obvious flaws of being able to sign both D12 and DW, can it be done from a salary perspective? Would Portland entertain that trade idea or would the Sixers need to make other moves? The goal is to get Matthews because he's a great fit, and get rid of Turner/Jrue/Thad because of salary space and the fact that they won't fit in with the roster at that point.

That Portland trade is horrendous for us.

What do you guys think.... Right now the payroll would be at around 54 Million, so you have to get a few more players to fill out the roster and sign lavoy to a new contract.....

You have some ideas that match up with my vision (assuming we keep Turner as opposed to Iguodala - which I'm torn on).

The only issues I see with your plan are the following:
1. If you sign McGee using cap space generated by amnestying Brand, then I don't think we would have the MLE to use on Miller (doubt he would want to come here as a backup either).
2. Gasol and McGee would be playing a lot more minutes than you have projected imo (Gasol at least 35/36 and McGee at least 33.
3. If you bring in both Gasol and McGee, then I think Thad has to be moved. Would never get minutes with Gasol/McGee/Allen/Vucevic needing time too.
4. I love the Brandon Rush signing (he's one guy I really want us to get), but I think he gets more than 3 mil/yr.

I honestly can't see us going after McGee. He isn't a good fit with Collins and this team.

I know this won't be a popular question, but what do you think we could get in a package for Turner and Thad?

Are there any decent SG, PF or C options that could be had for those two?

Names that come to mind for me are

1. Eric Gordon - sign and trade?
2. Al Jefferson - would they be interested in Turner? Seems like another ball handler would be good for them
3. Josh Smith - are the two of them enough? Joe Johnson could more to SF
4. Detroit's Lottery pick and Ben Gordon? -
5. Golden State Lottery pick and Biedrins?
6. Houston Lottery pick and K. Martin?
7. New Orleans Lottry pick (the one from Minn) and Okafor?

Any of those sound possible and make sense for us?

I firmly believe either Turner or Iguodala will be sent packing this off-season (not both) so I'm curious which would make more sense. I do have serious concerns that a SG who can't shoot is really going to hold back this team. I also think Thad's deal is going to get in the way of growing this team (backups should not make that much, but he might have more value to another team).

No thanks to 1, 2, 3...4-7 are better, but I would want Moti from Houston.

And they do it because?

I think Grizz won't do it because they already have enough PFs on their team. Their is zach, arthur and Speights.

I'd do it, but why would Memphis want Young and his bloated contract? They are set at PF and SF.

The one thing i don't see the sixers doing this offseasons, which me and alot of other sixers fans on here want is trading for youth and starting over. There gonna try to make moves to win now. Especially with the sucess the team had this year and doug bein the coach.... So here is another attempt at a possible quick fix...

- Amensty Brand
- Let Williams, Hawes, Battie and Sam Young walk
- Trade Iggy and Brackins for Pau Gasol
- Trade Thad Young for Paul Milsap (not sure if Jazz would go for this)
- Draft Terrence Ross at #15
- Resign Lavoy Allen to a 3 year 8 Million Dollar Contract
- Resign Jodie Meeks to a 1 year 1.25 Million Dollar Contract
- Sign Brandon Rush to a 4 year 16 Million Dollar Contract
- Sign Aaron Brooks to a 3 year 15 Million Dollar Contract

Roster
PG- Holiday/Brooks
SG- Turner/Meeks
SF- Rush/Ross
PF- Millsap/Allen
C- Gasol/Vucevic

The payroll would be around 51 Million....
Be The GM 4.0
Utah Jazz
PG-Rajon Rondo/Shawn Livingston
SG-O.J. Mayo/Francisco Garcia/Leandro Barbosa
SF-Brandon Rush/Corey Brewer
PF-J.J. Hickson/Kris Humphries/Boris Diaw
C-Brook Lopez/Jordan Hill

Love Brandon Rush for this team. Provides the same outside shooting as Meeks at much higher percentages and is an excellent defender. Not too high on Brooks, basically would be a worse Lou Williams. Im all about giving the keys to Holiday and Turner to play 35+ and take and make, miss the majority of the shots.

Bynum could be an idea. Iggy, Brand, Vucevic, 2013 first for Bynum and Artest, Steve Blakes contracts would work. Lakers would get a batman to Kobe and some serious leverage to make some moves the next offseason with Brand and Sessions coming off the books. I see them throwing a MLE at Billups if they can get rid of Blake.
C. Gasol/Vuecivc
F. Brand/Hill/Mcroberts
F. Iggy/Barnes/Ebanks
G. Kobe/Goudelock
G. (Billups)/Sessions/Morris

We are a young team. We can afford to take on Blake and Metas contracts. They expire in 2 years exactly when we will need enough money to extend our potential big money players Holiday, Turner. Sixers then go small in FA for some bench parts. Brandon Rush as mentioned above. Sebastion Telfair a guy who can fight Blake for the backup PG spot keep him on his toes and a backup Center..Speights wouldn't be awful for a few mins per game.

Draft a developmental SF. like Harkless or Quincy Miller to replace Meta down the road.
Artest can get his name called (whatever he wants to be called) in the opening lineups but play a reserved role (25-28mpg) as a defensive specialist. Rush and Quincy Miller (or T.Ross/Moe Harkless) can rotate the 3 as well.
Sam Young, and Telfair are two decent reserves as 11 and 12th men..one injury to a guard or a wing they can step right into the 2nd unit without us missing a beat.

C. Bynum/Speights
F. Lavoy/T.Young
F. Artest/Q.Miller/S.Young
G. Turner/B.Rush
G. Holiday/Blake/Telfair

Some ET-trade ideas for players this team could use:

ET + Thad - Eric Gordon (S&T)
ET - Byombo
ET - Portland 13th pick (Sullinger) + Jamal Crawford?
ET - Toronto's 8th pick

Don't think we can get much more for him and these teams could be interested I think

This is the trade we should do. Andre Iguodala and our pick for Andres Bargnani, Ed Davis and James Johnson.

Philly gets a big man scorer-shooter 20ppg score we need, A shotblocker Ed Davis and a very good defender in James Johnson.

Than

Trade Thaddues Young for Wilson Chandler .

Jrue Turner Chandler Bargagnani. Ed Davis
lou Meek Johnson. Allen. VUcevic

No we shouldn't, and I'm not quite sure the Raptors would do that either.

We could trade Vuc for Biyombi straight up?

I have a feeling the sixers are going to get kris humphries and pau gasol so that makes the Vuc expendable. Biyombo would provide us some valuble shot blocking that we need and a young athletic big with room to grow. Vuc gives the Bobcats better size and scoring at the center positions. As I think Mullens is a bust and even if they do draft anthony davis he's more of a athlete combo forward than a true big man that can score inside. Vuc could be a great complimentary player for them.
