Im not going to stop being a Sixers fan, i was a fan before and i will be after. Its just we committed to this approach and to stop now is beyond me. Hinkie quit because he could no longer had the authority to do what is necessary to continue "the process". I feel sick

jesus, is that really that big of a deal?

this just all seems to rash on Hinkie's part. they weren't going to fire him. they wanted more socially-ept people to deal with agents and players. (which even the most ardent Hinkie fans would have to acknowledge isn't a bad idea)

i still can't believe that someone as intelligent as Hinkie would honestly believe the owners were just going to give him full control for as long as he wanted. and never have have to worry about PR or having other voices in the room

Byran was the one of the worst GM's in the league prior to his firing in Toronto. Hiring him means signing mediocre talent to big money. Noone knows how to eat through cap space faster then this guy.

Funny thing is, a similar thing happened to Colangelo in Toronto when he stepped down after they brought someone else in. And Masai Ujiri was about to break up the team when pretty much the EXACT team Bryan built came in first in their division and won it with the same coach as the previous year. Much of the core is the same. At least Valuncias, Lowry and DeRozan were all acquisitions made before. He obviously made his share of mistakes though.

I wonder if he had not pulled the trigger on the trade last summer dealing MCW (which I had heard he had to really convince ownership to allow him to make that trade) if that started the process of them wanting to bring someone else in. Though I'm sure you guys know more details regarding that.

Not sure you can say he accomplished more (or really anything for that matter) in his 2 1/2 years. The Lowry signing, Valuncias and DeRozan picks turned into the core of what is now a pretty good team. But making the Bargnani pick and having Bosh leave midway through his tenure hurt.

How many misses did he have? How many years was he given. I mean even a monkey can get to treadmill status picking in the top ten year after year.

He was GM from 2006-2013. Too bad Hinkie wasn't given even four years. He accomplished more in two and half years then the seven years Brian was with the raps.

I swear Silver better reward us with the first pick for making this hire. Not even BC could screw it up, right?

More excerpts from the letter being posted now which means that someone has the whole thing most likely.

I'm guessing that it will be on the internet within the hour.

Can't wait to read it, and then hear the Sixers try to defend themselves on this one.

we're outnumbered. 127 people protesting outside the WFC isn't going to do a damn thing

If Spike Eskin can get two busses of people to go to a Brooklyn Nets home game.. just imagine. I agree it wouldn't matter. The RTRS lottery party is gonna be something special now

My fantasy:
Embiid: I don't know if it'll make any change, but I figured it's time for me to start playing ball.
Jerry C: I told you, once we got rid of him!
Embiid: But, there's just one thing... I play, Hinkie stays. He goes, I go.

I hope they don't do Brown dirty and can him because the effing Colagelos want to turn this into their own show. That man went through hell and deserves a proper roster.

It's amazing how our team got hijacked in the last 3 months. How did the Colangelos get into Harris' ear so quickly?

And let's be real, I bet Ferry was never a legit candidate. Probably suggested by JC as a ruse to make it not seem like he was biased.

Brett Brown should resign too.

The Mgmt no longer supports the plan.

I actually hope Hinkie goes to a division rival and owns the Sixers for a decade. I want nothing but utter misery for this organization.

4, 29, and 30 would be so sweet, and such vindication.

Because youngish rich fragile white dudes with small ****s care what old rich white dudes have to say.

Josh Harris was probably tired of hearing it from his country club buddies.

The city of Philadelphia deserves better than this clown.
